UNIT 3: Paying Bill by Online Banking
This lesson will give an insight for students to be more comprehend of what Online Banking
specifically in bill-paying method looks like.

Background Information:
The explosive information and internet have changed all aspect of human’s life. The massive
growth of the internet also affecting the money transaction in this global era. Online banking has
been applied in so many ways yet some people still mistrust it because of the security and most of
them still prefer face to face transaction. They might do online shopping but when it comes to
committing, they feel more comfortable dealing with agents or any other bankers whom they know
and trust.
Students Outcomes:
1. The students are able to open and use online banking in bill-paying.
2. The students are able to determine the appropriate service best used for the customer.
Essential Question:

Instructional Steps:
Step 1
Firstly, have students to record the last three times they used their home computer to buy something
from downloading (legally) music movie tickets. Ask students to decide whether the transaction
can be done without a computer.
Step 2
The next step is the teacher has to explain about the basics structure of online banking and also the
advantages and disadvantages in using online banking. Besides, the opening an online banking and
some things that are very important also should be considered. Make sure that the students
understand about the safety such as password protection.
Step 3
After the teacher explains about the online banking, then in this part the teacher has to discuss
about bill-paying. Bill paying and online banking are usually done together through a bank. The
bank usually has website for customer that will be used in doing transaction. The cost which is
done by using online banking varies from one institution to others. Therefore the students have to
be selected in using online banking before doing transaction.
Step 4
Ask the students to pay attention to the lesson by print out the E-Banking lesson. The teacher
should take the students through the process of opening an online account.
Step 5
Teacher asks the students to develop step by step in using online banking that they would use to
help their friend learn about online banking.
