Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) are a controllers which always been used in industrial
environments. Since PLC have a programmable memory which stores instructions and also implement
functions, it acts almost the same as desktop computers. PLCs use logic, timing, sequencing, arithmetic,
and counting to complete its tasks. It is also more resilient and denser compared to a normal computer.
Furthermore, PLCs are also one of the most advanced forms of system control and it also monitors
inputs, makes decisions based on its program, and controls outputs to automate a process or machine.
Basically, a PLC system consists of a few sections which are input/output section, Central
Processing Unit (CPU), Programming device, power supply, data memory and program memory. Thus,
in this experiment, students is asked to make an attempt on all the exercises that have been prepared in
the lab manual workbook. They also have to make an observation on this experiment and answer all the
questions in the lab manual. They have to complete all of the experiments in duration of 2 hours.
