Project Requirements:
1. In a group of 6, select any zones below within FKAAS Complex.

2. Observe solid waste management from generation until disposal in appointed zone.
3. Measure the waste composition for weekdays (5 working days).
4. Describe the current practice of: 1. Solid waste generation
2. Waste handling
3. Waste Collection
4. Transfer and Transport
5. Disposal

5. Evaluate and discuss the current recycling practice (if any) using related environmental
engineering principles. If not give suggestions using related environmental
engineering principles..
6. Evaluate and discuss the current practice of scheduled waste management using
related environmental engineering principles..

Report Requirements:
1. NO MORE than 15 pages. (excluding pictures and diagrams).
2. Must contain picture of group at the site.
3. Must contain introduction and background of study, problem statements,
analysis and discussion of the current condition (what? why? where? when?), probable
solutions (solid waste management), recommendations and conclusions.
4. Pictures of the site and any observations made must be included.
5. NO DUPLICATE / NO COPY and PASTE from other group’s work!!
6. You will be assessed based on the originality of the work.
7. You should be able to extract and analyze the information from various
resources (journals, books, technical reports, etc.)
8. The list of references must be included in your project report.
9. Please choose the observation week and inform the lecturer (3 weeks prior to the date)
Assessment Fraction (20%)

1. Report- Synthesis knowledge and analyze key findings (CLO 1)

2. Based on practical skill- CLO2 (Problem solving and appropriate
observation method) 7.5%
3. Based on Generic skill- CLO 3 (poster presentation) 7.5%

Submission poster presentation (10 minutes, QNA, 5 minutes) date: (During


class hour) - Week 10(Group 1,2,3,4,5,6)-12( Group 7,8,9,10,11,12). Email
softcopy of poster on week 13.
