Students can take a practice SAT or ACT for $15 to better prepare for the
SAT or ACT. Please arrive early and bring #2 pencils. Interested students

Juniors Junior Family Night
Wednesday, January 30, 2019 Highlander Hall, Rawley Hall, Library 7:00 P.M.-8:30 P.M.

College counselors will review college and career readiness resources, a timeline for 11 th
graders, and how to apply to college. Parents and students will also learn how a student’s

Field Trip: UC Santa Barbara & CSU Channel Islands


Thursday, February 14, 2019 8:30 A.M.-5:30 P.M.
Grade Level: 11 Max students: 40

Space is limited and juniors may only sign up for one field trip this semester. Students will
participate in a walking tour and learn about opportunities and programs available at UC Santa
Barbara and CSU Channel Islands.
Juniors can sign up on Naviance on Monday, January 28th at 3:30 pm.

Youth Leadership Institute (Grade 11) Application Deadline: January 25, 2019

YLI is a free four-day, overnight, college empowerment conference for Latino high school juniors held at
three top universities across the US. This highly selective program is designed to give young leaders the
practical tools they need to successfully apply to top universities, have full access to scholarship and financial

Junior Scholars Program (Reed College Fly-In) (Grade 11) Application Deadline: January 25, 2019

Junior Scholars, Reed's spring travel scholarship, invites a highly qualified group of high school juniors from
historically under-represented racial and ethnic backgrounds to visit Reed. All air travel, on-campus meals,

Inspiring Girls Expedition (Grades 10-12) Must start application by: February 1, 2019

Inspiring Girls Expeditions is a free 12-day wilderness science education program that interweaves science,
art, and wilderness travel. Each year, expedition teams of 8-9 teenage girls and 3 instructors spend 12 days

Speech Contest United States Constitution, with emphasis on a
