NARRATIVE AND PICTORIAL OF EARTHQUAKE DRILL

I. INTRODUCTION AND DRILL SCENARIO

The Third Quarter Simultaneous Earthquake was conducted last August 16, 2018 at
exactly 2:00 pm. This activity aims to generate the highest level of awareness among pupils
in Disaster Risk Reduction concerns and assess the capacity level of the school in the
eventuality of disaster and emergencies. Tibag Elementary School support the government’s
thrust with regards to disaster preparedness. The school participated in the Simultaneous
Earthquake Drill. All pupils from Kindergarten to Grade VI participated on the said drill.
The pupils followed the signal given; everyone performed the “Duck, Cover and Hold
“. They moved and covered under the study table or hide in armchair. Then the second
signal, everyone evacuated the school building and proceeds to their assigned evacuation
areas, the pupils were grouped together according to the class where they belong.
Teacher checked and make sure that all pupils are accounted for. The over-all
coordinator announced the termination of the drill.
Since the drill was conducted according to the safety of the pupils. The Earthquake
Drill was successfully conducted.
