Installation Guide
To install the DVD logon to the PTU as ‘Administrator’ and follow the on screen prompts once the
installation process has started.

Insert the DVD and press the Windows key on the keyboard.

Click on ‘My Computer’ in the Start Menu.

Double click on the DVD Drive D:\

Double click on ‘setup.exe’, the installation process will start.

The following are the various screens that will/maybe displayed during installation:

Installation Started

Select Installation Language

(Language of your PTU)

Setup Wizard (Click ‘Next’)

Important! – Please read the screen fully.

If the required VCM disc is not installed on the
PTU Diagnostics will not be available.
License Agreement – Click the ‘I accept the
agreement’, then click ‘Next’

Select Destination Directory and click

‘Next’.

Keep Previous Settings – Only appears

when updating an existing installation,
leave Keep settings box checked to
maintain previous settings and users.

Languages – Select the required language(s) for

EtisIDS installation (more than one language can be
selected).

Note: Selecting more than one language will increase

installation time and subsequent content update
downloads.

Data Options – Leave VIN Database and Data

selected when installing on a PTU.
Uninstalling previous version (only
appears when a previous installation is
detected).

Installing

Installation Completed – Click finish and

restart the PTU. Start FordEtis IDS and
activate the application, set up Technician
accounts if required. Refer to Etis Online Help
files for additional information.
