EWB Internship – Timor Leste

Engineers Without Borders Australia (EWB) is a member-based not-for-profit organisation


with over 14 years of experience in creating systemic change through humanitarian
engineering. We connect, educate and empower people through humanitarian engineering.

The Internship

After the success of last year’s Internship Program, EWB Professional Skills Development
Program is running a new and extended program for the purpose of supporting young and
emerging engineers and students of Timor-Leste.
We are interested in recent graduates from various engineering programs and young people
with technical backgrounds, looking to enhance their professional skills and become actively
involved in humanitarian engineering efforts. If you are eager to make a difference and jump
into the professional world, we encourage you to apply.

Program Details

EWB is offering an internship placement that will equip you with skills needed to effectively
work within the professional environment.
The Internship Program consist of 3 - 6 months for freshly-graduated engineering placement
that will working closely with Engineers Without Borders Australia in Timor-Leste and their
partner organisations in WASH and construction. Successful applicants will receive a small
stipend for the duration of the placement to cover basic costs such as transport to and from
place of internship, and a certificate upon completion. Applicants should have a sound
knowledge of the English language.

Job Responsibilities

During your placement you will have the opportunity to work closely with diverse
engineering professionals. Your role will be to learn about and assist on managing a variety
of important projects and gain experience working in a professional team environment. Your
responsibilities may include:
 Assisting senior staff with general office management
 Assist in the preparation and execution of Project Related
Documentation
 Participating in field visits and networking events
 Composing presentations
