FlexWave™ OMC-R
Total Management for Indoor/Outdoor Coverage and Capacity
The FlexWave™ Operations and Maintenance Center – Radio (OMC-R) is a complete management
solution for the FlexWave Base Station System (BSS), providing total control of the FlexWave Base
Station Controller (BSC), InterReach nanoBTS™, and FlexWave microBTS elements. The OMC-R
provides everything needed for the operation and maintenance of the FlexWave solution, including
provisioning, alarm management, and performance management.
The simple and intuitive user-interface is highly configurable, employing a familiar
tree-based environment.
Features:
• Full network view with color-coded alarm management
• Easy integration with third-party alarm and performance management solutions
Spec Sheet
Configuration Management
FlexWave™ OMC-R
The configuration management module enables all parameters on the BSC and BTS to be monitored
and provisioned remotely. The session management allows single or multiple users to edit and/or store
configurations. Multiple BSSs can be edited in a single session, and wizards are used to simplify the
setting up of new BSS sites and the A-interface.
Alarm Management
The alarm management functionality of the FlexWave OMC-R collates all alarms from the BSSs and lists
them with alarm severity, acknowledgement status, probable cause, equipment and managed object
identification and timestamp. The alarm management module screen is user configurable and with
filtering, managed objects can be viewed according to the highest severity alarm, by date, by individual
BTSs, and so on. The context-sensitive help-pane assists the user in interpreting the alarms and suggests
repair instructions.
Performance Management
There are over 40 key performance parameters that can be configured for export to third-party analysis
tools. These include unsuccessful requests for service, mean inter-arrival time for circuit and packet
switched, paging messages and handovers from the BSC and statistics on handover, paging and

InterReach® nanoBTS™ EDGE/AMR
GSM-over-IP picocell for in-building coverage and capacity
The InterReach® nanoBTS™ EDGE/AMR picocellular base station represents a significant step on the
migration path to higher data rates and more supported users. Based on the InterReach nanoBTS
GSM/GPRS base station it delivers the same features and functionality for GSM voice and GPRS but
with the addition of high-speed EDGE data and improved voice quality and capacity using AMR
coding.
For operators moving to higher speed data networks by deploying EDGE, there is a strong
requirement to provide high quality coverage in buildings. With industry-leading GSM-over-IP
technology it is possible to bring cost effective high-speed coverage to the user where they most
need and use it.
Features: Applications
• Up to 3 times the data rate with EDGE • Dedicated coverage for SME premises
support • In-building capacity and coverage for large
• Up to 3 times the number of supported corporate offices
Spec Sheet
Easy Deployment
Picocells offer a lower cost alternative to the traditional antenna based approach to providing GSM
coverage and capacity within buildings. Due to the small size and deployment flexibility, the InterReach
nanoBTS can easily achieve coverage where needed. The quick and simple installation using existing
Ethernet wiring for both data and power avoids the need for the expensive site surveys, cabling
installations and access to roof and floor spaces typical of distributed antenna systems (DAS). The unique
Network Listen™ function supplements the conventional RF planning process, allowing the planners to
see into the difficult indoor environment to optimize the coverage.

There are four versions of the InterReach nanoBTS EDGE/AMR for operation in the 850MHz, 900MHz,

InterReach nanoBTS can be combined into a multiple TRX cell, increasing the number of simultaneous
calls up to 62 using half rate AMR.
The InterReach nanoBTS GPRS/GSM and the InterReach nanoBTS EDGE/AMR are controlled by the
