ABSTRACT

This study focused on the factors affecting students absenteeism of Grade 7 – Grade 12 in

Top Achiever’s Private School. The objectives of this study aimed at knowing how frequent

those factors affect the respondents and knowing if those factors have significant relationship

with the age and gender of the respondents.

The study utilized a descriptive survey design which used questionnaire to collect data

from the students. Stratified Sampling method was used in in the distribution of the

questionnaires. 149 respondents were involved in this study.

The findings indicated that the main factors of students absenteeism are, School

Predictors of Students Attendance, Mental Health Condition, Composition and Involvement of

the Family, Nature of Academic Program and Condition of the School Facilities always affect

the respondents’. It was further concluded that the factors Students Perception of the School,

Parents and Family Predictors of Students Attendance, Family Socio-Economic Program and

Place of Residence, School Culture and Safety, Nature of Academic Program and Conditions of

School Facilities have significant relationship with the respondent’s age and the factors School

Culture and Safety and Conditions of School Facilities have significant relationship with the

respondent’s gender.
