Lesson #1 –April 5th 2018

(Teacher and Student Activities)

Class: 8-20/ 8-33 Date: April 5th 2018

Title: Introduction to the new Unit Grade Level: Math 8

Objective of Lesson (in own words):

In this lesson, the aim will be to introduce the Integers unit to the students. The lesson will be used to revisit number
properties (whole numbers, integers, rationales, decimals, negative, and positive numbers), understand real world
applications of increase and decreases, and set up the platform for learning multiplication and division of integers later
on. Students will also revisit addition and subtraction of integers.
We will use a Kahoot, to assess previous knowledge and get in the mindset for working with integers.
We will also play the integer card game.

Learner Outcomes (Program of Studies) Plan for Diversity (Differentiated Instruction)

- Demonstrate an understanding of multiplication - Students will be presented the material though

interactive games, and a formal unit test.
