Programmer Instructions for Use F30E Only
General description
10205
The Programmer is fitted as standard to the Themaclassic
F30E and is an optional extra for the Themaclassic F30E SB.
The programmer is factory preset which switches the boiler
“ON” and “OFF” up to three times a day as shown below.
NOTE: The 2nd “ON” and “OFF” preset time will not bring the
10302
boiler on. In most cases this may not be required but can be
programmed by the user if desired.
The programmer has an “advance” feature to manually switch
the boiler “ON” or “OFF” and a holiday feature to able you to
programme the boiler to start automatically when returning from
holiday. Details on how to set these feature are given further on
in these instructions.
10303
example, 1300 for 1pm, see diagram 2.
Helpful hint The + and - buttons are used to change the times.
Press and release for small changes, hold the button down and
the time will change quickly.

Programmer Instructions for Use F30E Only
To set the programmer ON and OFF times
10305
Note: The programmer can be set to give a minimum of one and
a maximum of three ON and three OFF times.
Place the slide switch to “SET”.
Press the “enter” button. The display will show the first on time,
see diagram 4.
Using the + and - buttons, change the first on time to the time
you require then press the “enter” button twice. This stores the
new time and displays it to confirm it has been stored in the
programmer memory.
Press the “enter“ button again. The display will show the first
OFF time, see diagram 5.
Using the + and - buttons, change the first “OFF” time to the time Diagram 5
you require. Press the “enter” button twice. The display will
show the first “ON” time.
Press the “enter” button again. The display will now show the
10306
first “OFF” time you have just entered.
Repeat the above for the remaining “ON” and “OFF” times.
ON
When the “ON” and “OFF” times have been set, place the slide
switch to “RUN”.
Note: If all three “ON” and “OFF” times are not required, follow
the above instructions but after setting the desired times, set the
other times to show a series of dashes, using the + and -
buttons, see diagram 6. The series of dashes are between
times 23.59 and 0.00.
Helpful Hint If you get confused and wish to start again, press
the “Reset” (res) button and the programmer will revert to the
internal factory set programme. You can now reset the current Diagram 6
time and start again.
10307
The programmed “ON” and “OFF” times can be checked at any
time by moving the slide switch from “RUN” to “SET”.
Successive presses of the “enter” button will show the “ON” and
“OFF” times.
Always return the slide switch to “RUN” to return to normal timed
working.
Place the slide switch to “ HOL ” , the letter “h” will appear on the
display, see diagram 7.
Using the + and - buttons, set the “Holiday” time required.
After the display has shown “twenty three hours”, the “h” symbol
on the display will change to a “d”. The Holiday time will now be
displayed in days, instead of hours, see diagram 8.
Use the “ON/OFF” button to set the boiler to the required
operation during the “Holiday” period.
Place the slide switch to “RUN”.
After the programmed “Holiday” time, the boiler will return to
normal timed operation.

Draining
Protection against freezing areas of the system should be protected by a seperate frost
thermostat.
The boiler has a built in frost protection programme as long as
the electricity and gas are left switched on. If the boiler is to be out of use for any long periods during severe
weather conditions, it is recommended that the whole system,
If the temperature within the appliance falls to 3˚C the burner including the boiler, be drained to avoid the risk of freezing.

If in doubt, consult your servicing company.
When the temperature inside the appliance reaches 10˚C the
burner will shut down and after a short period the pump will stop. Draining and filling
This device primarily protects the boiler. Any other exposed Caution: The boiler is installed as part of a sealed system which
must only be drained and filled by a competent person.

The Themaclassic boiler has a built-in bypass. This must be
adjusted according to the requirements of the system, refer to
the flow rate pressure curve (diagram 1.1). The boiler is
supplied with the built-in bypass open a half a turn. It is adjusted
by turning the bypass screw (a), see diagram 16.1. Turn the
screw clockwise to close the bypass. When using thermostatic
radiator valves (TRV’s) on all of the radiators, it is essential that
a separate, adjustable bypass of 15 mm minimum diameter is
fitted between the flow and return of the heating circuit, see
diagram 3.1. Any bypass must be fitted before system controls.

Before trying to operate the boiler make sure that : IMPORTANT: On completion of the fault finding task which has
required the breaking or remaking of the electrical connections,
• All gas supply cocks are open and that the gas supply has the continuity, polarity, short circuit and resistance to earth
been purged of air. checks must be repeated using a suitable multimeter.
• The heating system pressure is at least 1 bar.
• There is a permanent mains supply to the boiler.
• The fuse on the PCB is intact.
WARNING. Always isolate the boiler from the electrical supply
before carrying out any electrical replacement work.
Always check for gas soundness after any service work.
Should there be any doubt about the voltage supply to any of
the components, it is possible to carry out a simple electrical
test to ensure all is operational in that area.
To carry out the electrical test, gain access to the main Printed
Circuit Board (PCB), as described previously, and measure
the voltages according to table 2.
