1. Magen Mabit Introduction

collect intelligence from smartphones with an emphasis on Mobile Applications and Cloud
Interception.

intelligence analyst as well as much needed critical immediate data for a tactical operational field
team

2. Background
The growth of smartphone applications opens a new opportunity for intelligence collection. Most
smartphone applications connect to the internet and sends valuable information to a centralized
server. Smartphhone user are using both applications and the Cloud to store personal information.

With the Mabit system the targets can be intercepted at almost any scene. The Mabit solutions
enforce the smartphone to connect to the Internet through the Mabit system and intercept the
application data transferred from the smartphone. By using the Mabit as tactical tool will allow the
user to receive a huge amount of information from the targets smartphone. This can be achieved by
browsing history, email conversation, personal and confidential information stored on the
smartphone, fake social network identities, one to one communications and more.

Tactical tools are quick and easy ways to intercept your targets at specified geographical locations. A
perfect companion to large strategic interception and conventional voice wiretapping prod ucts, that
allows you to gather a wealth of information without need of multiple data source and data queries.

The Mabit solution is providing intelligence beyond the existing GSM voice and SMS interception
tools, and can be implemented as an extension to existing systems or as stand alone.

A big advantage using smartphone application interception is that the installed applications are
transmitting information with high frequency even when the target is not using his smartphone.
Thus, the chance to collect intelligence is much higher than with conventional interception.

3. Operational Scenarios
The Mabit Tactical Solution is especially designed for a field operational team working in public
places searching for a single target in a civilian environment (such as Café, Shopping Mall, Sport
event).

In a matter of seconds the system is operational and collecting initial intelligence for target profiling.

Smartphone and Tablets in the area are connected to the Mabit solution and profiled and users are
tagged for identification purposes by the Smartphone such as hardware information (could be the
MAC address, GUID, IMSI and IMEI). In case the user is accessing multiple identities on social
networks the physical identification of the Smartphone allows correlating the fake identities to the
single target.

The profiling allows the tactical team to verify the presence of the target and the smartphone that
he is carrying (not necessarily actively using the smartphone).

4. The Mabit Solution

The Mabit tactical solution is an easy to operate lightweight tactical solution carried by the
operational field team following a suspect.

When started the Mabit solution enforces smartphones in the area to connect through network to
the Mabit system. From this point all data from apps and to the cloud are intercepted by Mabit.

The Mabit system can connect 16 smartphones concurrently.

Mabit is by default profiling all smartphones and tablets in range both iOS and Android based
devices. First step of intelligence collection is the target profiling. The operational team can identify
the target and concentrate the intelligence collection on a single target. During intelligence
collection the Mabit system continuously scan the smartphones and tablets in the area for
identifying additional suspicious behavior.

All actions are performed automatically by the system, enabling the tactical team to concentrate on
the suspect.

With advanced software methods the Mabit solution is capable of relating multiple virtual IDs to a
single smartphone. This allows the tactical team to make fast decision on the fly during a field
operation.
