    Normal blood pressures and heart rates vary according to age in children. For infants, the normal systolic pressure is 72-104 mm Hg and diastolic is 37-56 mm Hg. Heart rates range from 100-180 beats/min when awake and 90-160 beats/min when sleeping. For adolescents over 12 years old, normal systolic pressure is 110-131 mm Hg, diastolic is 64-83 mm Hg, and heart rates range from 60-100 beats/min awake and 50-90 beats/min asleep. Normal respiratory rates also differ by age, ranging from 30-53 breaths/min in infants to 12-20 breaths/min in adolescents.
