Arakan Rohingya Union Welcomes All the Legitimate Rohingya Organizations
to Advance the Cause of Rohingya in Myanmar
Arakan Rohingya Union (ARU) warmly welcomes all the legitimate Rohingya organizations and groups
worldwide to join hands and work collectively to advance the Rohingya cause to reclaim the citizenship and
basic human rights of Rohingya people in Myanmar.

Arakan Rohingya Union is a global Rohingya federation of 61 organizations from various parts of the world,
formed under the auspice of the OIC and recognized by all the 57 member states of the OIC as the only
legitimate organization of the Rohingya. The mission of ARU is to reclaim their citizenship that guarantees
their political and human rights, to foster relations between Rohingya and fellow ethnic groups of Myanmar,
and to advance the Rohingya people through improvement of socioeconomics, cultural, and educational
infrastructures. The Arakan Rohingya Union was formed on the agreed principles of an indivisible
Arakan/Rakhine State within the territorial integrity of the Union of Myanmar, through seeking peaceful co-
existence, democracy and human rights, and federalism (www.RohingyaUnion.org). ARU is registered in
the United State as a (501)(c)(3) organization.

Arakan Rohingya Union maintains an open-door policy to membership from qualified Rohingya
organizations worldwide, and the application may be submitted to the ARU Council at
Council@RohingyaUnion.org. Any organization seeking membership in ARU must comply with ARU
Constitution and meet the following criteria when submitting the application:

 Provide the proof of legal residency or refugee status in the resident and/or host country.
 Provide the organizational structure, mission, officers and members information, and address in the
resident and/or host country.
 Provide a summary of the organization’s significant contribution to the cause of Rohingya.
 Provide a statement of intent to comply with ARU’s mission of diplomacy, engagement,
intercommunal dialogue, and peaceful coexistence.
 The applicant organization must not have any officer or member facing outstanding warrant from
authorities.
 Any officer or member of the applicant organization must not have involved in any form of crime or
violence, connection to any violent group, endorsed any violent group or provided any form of
support to any violent group.

Arakan Rohingya Union will be pleased to receive and review the membership application, but WILL NOT
accept any form of reform request from organizations or groups which are NOT a member of ARU in contrary
to the process outlined in the ARU Constitution. ARU conducts all its official business within the framework
of ARU Constitution through the ARU Council, Congress, and the Secretariat.

Arakan Rohingya Union is officially incorporated in the United States, and any individual, group, or
organization committing forgery, misinformation, misrepresentation, and illegal fundraising through the use
of the name of Arakan Rohingya Union in the US or elsewhere will be liable and will be prosecuted by law.

Arakan Rohingya Union, a global Rohingya umbrella organization, representing 61 Rohingya organizations worldwide, was
formed under the patronage of the OIC Secretary General as a united Rohingya coordinated council to reclaim the rights of
Rohingya people in their homeland, Myanmar. Arakan Rohingya Union is registered in the USA as 501(c)(3) organization and
recognized by all the 57 member states of OIC as the official representative organization of the Rohingya people through the
Resolution No.4/37-MM at the 38th OIC Council of Foreign Ministers Conference in Astana, Kazakhstan.
