    This technical service bulletin addresses an issue where vehicles display 2 or 3 blocks of fuel remaining but are running low on fuel or difficult to prime. The issue is caused by damage to the printed circuit of the fuel gauge. The repair is to replace the faulty fuel gauge.     INCORRECT FUEL LEVEL INDICATION - RUNNING OUT OF FUEL AND/OR


    CUSTOMER
    DEPRIMING WITH 2 OR 3 BLOCKS DISPLAYED ON THE FUEL LEVEL
    SYMPTOM :

    1. ORIGIN
    Fuel gauge printed circuit damaged.

    2. AFTER-SALES REPAIR
    Replacement of the fuel gauge.

    2.1. Parts required


    1 Fuel gauge (Part No. depending on vehicle specification).

    N.B. : Refer to the repair methods concerning any additional parts to be obtained for this operation

    2.2. Check
    Remove the fuel pump-gauge assembly .

    Measure the resistance values at the fuel gauge (1) connector ; Using an ohmmeter.
    Resistance specifications :
    Tank full : 15 ± 3 ohms
    Tank empty : 410 ± 5 ohms

    If the resistance values are not correct : Carry out repair .


    If the resistance values are correct : Do not apply this document ; Carry out in-depth fault finding.

    2.3. Repair
    Replace the fuel gauge (1).

    CAUTION : Observe the positioning of the new fuel gauge when fitting it to the fuel pump-gauge assembly

    Turn the fuel supply and return openings of the fuel pump (2) to the left (at "a").
    Position and align the left-hand side of the fuel gauge (1) on the rails of the fuel pump (2) (at "b").
    Assemble the fuel pump (2) and the fuel gauge (1) until they are fully fitted together (at "c") (You will hear a click when the retaining clip
    locks into place).
    Refit the fuel pump-gauge assembly .

    Invoicing time : 0,70H.
    Operation code : 9R06RP00.

    3. PRODUCTION SOLUTION
    From RPO number 14448 : Modification of the fuel pump-gauge assembly manufacturing process.

    N.B. : Do not raise any further quality reports (CRI) to indicate an incident occurring on a vehicle manufactured before the production
    modification ; On the other hand, send a quality report (CRI) for all cases of recurrence following application of this document or for any
    incident occurring on a vehicle manufactured following the implementation of the production solution
