I am going to talk about the culture of Trinidad and Tobago.

In Trinidad and Tobago the most demanded religions are; Roman Catholicism with 30%,
Hinduism with 18%, Islam with 12% among other religions. This is because the country
is influenced by the native cultures of the Caribbean, India, Africa, Portugal, Spanish,
Chinese, Arabic and French alike.
As another country in the world, Trinidad and Tobago also celebrates the Easter
weekend, food is an integral part of the Holy Week celebrations in Trinidad. On Good
Friday, the menu is usually fish, fresh or salty. On the contrary, Easter Sunday lunch is
prepared, with hams, baked pork and roast chicken. They also make the procession as
usual.
The Carnival that was introduced in Trinidad and Tobago by the French is one of the
largest public celebrations on the island, it is not very different like Brazil.
The Hindu festival of Phagwa, or Holi, involves a lot of cheerful songs and dances while
the participants are sprayed with a great variety of colored dyes. This festival takes place
during the month of March or April.

It is a religious festival also known as the festival of lights, celebrated by members of


various religions in India, such as Hinduism, Sikhism and Jainism.
During Diwali, which takes place once a year, people wear new clothes, share sweets
and explode firecrackers and fireworks. It is the entrance of the new Hindu year, and one
of the most significant and joyful nights of the year.

Cradle of the music calypso, Trinidad and Tobago annually develops its carnival in the
month of February, which is considered one of the largest and most lavish in the world.

The English language is the official and commercial language in Trinidad and Tobago; It
has a large number of speakers throughout the territory. However, the Hindi language is
also widely spoken in the country.
In Tobago, is where you can find more French speakers and in Trinidad, more Spanish
speakers.

The Roti: It is a kind of thin and flat bread that carries different fillings for example can
be roti chicken curry.
Pelau chicken: Chicken made with black sugar, rice, pigeon pea (pea) and
Worcestershire (English sauce).
Bulijol: It is a dish of cod, crumbled that is seasoned with pepper, tomatoes, onion and
olive oil and served in hops (cakes)
Pepperpot (Pot of Pimentón): One of the most traditional dishes of the kitchen of
Trinidad and Tobago. It is a preparation with several types of meat and vegetables, hot
pepper and a juice that is extracted from the grated yucca and then boiled.

The main economic wealth of the country is oil and gas.


The agricultural sector is very small and the main crops are sugar cane, coffee, cocoa
and citrus.
Tourism constitutes an important entrance of foreign currency in the country.
