SU DOKU MECHANICS

1. This contest is to be joined by two (2) students from each section per grade level (Grade 7-12).
2. There will be one (1) winner per grade who will represent the school in the district level during the District
Integrated Math Activities.
3. There will be three (3) elimination rounds:

Round 1 EASY Round (15 minutes)

Each contestant will solve only one Su DoKu Easy level
Only the Top 7 contestants can proceed to Round 2

Round 2 AVERAGE ROUND (30 minutes)

The top 7 contestants will solve only one Su DoKu Average Level.
Only the top 5 contestants can proceed to Round 3.

Round 3 DIFFICULT ROUND (40 minutes)

The top 5 contestants will solve only one Su DoKu Difficult Level.
Each contestant will be ranked according to the time consumed in the puzzle.

4. The Su DoKu grid will be provided during the contest proper.

5. The time starts immediately after the contest administrator announces the GO signal.
6. The contestants shall immediately submit their solved Su DoKu and the contest administrator will record the
time consumed for each contestant.
7. The Su DoKu puzzle is said to be solved after filling all the sub-grids, each with the numbers 1 to 9 in proper
arrangements. Each row and column contain the numbers 1 to 9.
8. Numbers written whether in pencil or ballpen and in whether sizes shall be deemed final and constitutes an
answer of the puzzle grids.
9. Winners will be determined through the consumed time in the Su DoKu puzzle. Any contestant who have
consumed the least time in the puzzle will be declared winner.
10. The decision of the contest administrator is official and final.

RUBIK’S CUBE MECHANICS

1. This contest is to be joined by two (2) students per section of every year level- from Grade 7-12.
2. The winner for each Grade will represent the school during the District Integrated Math Activities.
3. The participant shall be a bonafide student in the current school year.
4. This is a “race to three” competition. Each contestant will solve 3 Rubik’s Cube continuously.
5. Each contestant will provide their own Rubik’s Cube during the contest proper.
6. There will be three elimination rounds for each category.

Round 1 Race to Three. The contestants will be divided into three groups.
Game 1: Four Contestants (group 1)
Game 2: Four Contestants (group 2)
Game 3: Four Contestants (group 3)
* The time of each contestant will be recorded. All the contestants will be ranked
according to the least time consumed. The top 6 can proceed to Round 2.

Round 2 Race to Three. The top six (6) contestants will be divided into two (2) groups.
Game 1: Three contestants (group 1)
Game 2: Three contestants (group 2)
*The time of each will be recorded. All the contestants will be ranked according
to the least time consumed. The top three (3) can proceed to Round 3.

Round 3 Race to Three. The contestants will be ranked according to the least time
consumed. The contestants will be declared as first, second or third winner.

7. The tie keeper shall check the stopwatch for every contestant. There shall be one (1) time keeper for every
contestant.
8. The time starts immediately after the contest administrator announces GO signal.
9. The time keeper shall only press STOP on the watch after the puzzle has been solved and places down the
Rubik’s Cube on the top of the table. The contestant is no longer allowed to continue if he/she happened to
place down the Rubik’s Cube before the puzzle was solved

10. The Rubik’s Cube puzzle is said to be SOLVED after putting it back on the proper order, each face will have
only one color.
11. Winners will be determined through the consumed time in Rubik’s Cube puzzle. Any contestant who has the
least time in solving the puzzle will be declared winner.
12. The decision of the contest administrator will official and final.

DaMath MECHANICS

1. This contest is to be joined by one (1) student per grade level-from Grade 7-12.
2. The winner will represent the school during in a DaMath contest-Intgers, the District Integrated Math
Activities.
3. Basically, the rules in playing the Filipino checkboard game called dama will be used with some
modifications in integrating Mathematics as follows.
a. Set the starting positions of the chips.
b. After the starting positions of the chips have been set, the first player is determined by drawing lots.
c. A chip is allowed to move diagonally forward only to an adjoining vacant square.
d. A chip has to take the opponent’s chip diagonally forward, or backward, thus ‘pass’ is not allowed.
Mathematical opponents (+,-, x, /) will be used depending on the vacant sqaure’s operation symbol
where the ‘taker’ chip lands by jumping over the taken chip (the latter chip has to be removed from
the board after performing the indicated mathematical operation and recording same in the
scoresheet.)
e. In taking a chip or more, the taker chip is always the addend, minuend, multiplicand or dividend as
the case may be.
f. In taking a chip or more than one chip, the dama rules on ‘dama mayor dalawa or tatlo’, ‘mayor
tatlo over dalawa’, ‘mayor dama, and ‘mayor dalalw or tatlo over dama’ prevail.
g. A chip is declared ‘dama’ upon reaching terminally on the following designated squares:
For red chips: (0, 7) (2, 7) (4, 7) (6, 7)
For blue chips: (1, 0) (3, 0) (5, 0) (7, 0)
h. A ‘dama’ chip is allowed to take a chip or more than one chip, or move to any unoccupied square
along its diagonal path. Moreover, a dama’s score is doubled in taking a chip or chips and
quadrupled if it takes the opponents dama chip or chips, nad ordinary chip’s score is doubled if its
takes a dama chip.
i. A move (e.g. 2-> (6, 3)) is good only at the most for one (1) minute including ts corresponding
entries in the scoresheet; while the games duration is twenty (20) minutes.
j. The game ends when any of the following situations occur:
1. If no show of one player is declared after ten minutes.
2. Repetitive moves of any or both players.
3. A player resigns.
4. A player’s chip is cornered.
5. A player has no more chips to move.
6. The 20-minutegame duration ended.
k. The remaining chips have to added to the respective players’ total scores.
l. The player with the highest interest score will be declared winner.
m. The decision of the contest administration/arbiters will be official and final.

SCIENCE AND MATH QUIZ MECHANICS

SCIENCE QUIZ

1. This contest is to be joined by three (3) students from every year level- from Grade 7-12.
2. Each participant will take a 30-item multiple choice exam.
3. The test will last for 1 hour (60 minutes).
4. It will cover a wide array of areas in Science. Some of the areas include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth
Science, Environmental Science, etc.
5. Top three (3) scorers in each grade from the exam will represent the school in the Division level in three (3)
events/contests. One (1) student will compete in the Individual Quiz, one (1) student will compete in
Environmental Science and one (1) student will be part of a team of four (4) that will compete in the Quiz
Bowl in the Division level.
6. In case of tie scores of two or more students, a new set of questions will be given by the in-charge of the
activity.

MATH QUIZ

1. This contest is to be joined by three (3) students in Junior High only-Grade 7-10.
2. Each participant will answer a 10-item exam. It is composed of 5-multiple choice items and 5 problem
solving items.
3. The written test/exam will last for 90 minutes (1h 30 min).
4. Each student is required to write their answers and solutions clearly and neatly.
5. This exam/test will determine the three (3) students who will represent the school in the Division and District
level of Integrated Math Activities.
6. Two (2) students will join the Individual Quiz Bee in the Division level-the Top two (2) scorers while the
third student of every grade will be part of the team of four (4) students for the Quiz Bowl during the District
Integrated Math Activities.
7. Moreover, the chosen three (3) students from each grade will be also the representatives for the Metrobank
Math Challenge-MTAP 2018.
8. In case of tie scores of two or more students, a set of three (3) questions will be given.
