The information on this content was provided by the National Institute of Diabetes and

Digestive and Kidney Diseases and the name of the source is “ Health Risks of Being

Overweight”. It appeared on the NIH website February 2015. The main points of this content is

to give information about the risks of being overweight and health problems that are linked to

being obese. Some health problems may include type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart

disease, and strokes and how they can be connected to being obese. This content mainly talk

about why it's important to keep up with our health and how much weight loss can prevent health

issues. Understanding what BMI is important and the content includes charts to show what BMI

each of us is supposed to be around at a certain age. The organization wrote this to conduct

research about obese people and the health problems that each obese person could possibly have.

The audience is for scientists and others who are wanting to become more aware of obesity and

what comes along with it. I know this source is reliable because its government research for

scientists and have reliable resources to follow. I will use this information for my research paper

to explain the importance of losing weight and why effects it has on obese people.

The author of this article is Mary L. Gavin and this article appeared on the TeensHealth

from Nemours website in June 2018. This article is to give information about why being

overweight is a problem and defining overweight. Knowing the meaning of overweight is

important and this article reviews the importance. Also it gives another perspective about obesity

and more of a connection to teens and kids. Also how there genes can react stronger to becoming

more obese than others, and how they are more likely to be diagnosed with diabetes and other

weight related health problems. Which the article includes awareness details about fatty liver,

high cholesterol, gallstones, and many more other health problems involved with obesity. The

writer's purpose of this article is to spread awareness about obesity and how it affect kids and

teenagers growing up with this issue. This article is for everyone but mainly focuses on teens to

be the audience so they can learn more about the problem if they are dealing with these certain

type of issues. This source is reliable because all the information that is provided on the content

is for educational purposes and to educate people and give them accurate information about any

topic that’s searched on the website. Also there are contact information for any questions that are

needed to be answered for any concerns. This source will help me with me research paper by

giving me descriptive information about kids and teenagers. Each source I look forward to

finding something different bringing to my research paper for another perspective.

U.S Department Health and Services conducted this content on the Centers Disease

Control and Prevention website and it appeared March 5, 2018. The information that this website

brings states that it covers behavior, community environment, genetics, other diseases and drugs,

and consequences of obesity. What this website means by behavior are the ratings habits and

how an individual have patterns of eating food and what they are eating. Also it includes the

minimum of an adult supposed to have intense activity to stay fit daily. Then there is community

environment and how people make their choices with what their surroundings are providing

them with. Sometimes growing up being around obese people and eating the same way can affect
an individual. Having a more positive environment with providing a healthy diet is what this

information is presenting. I believe the organization posted this for accurate research and to

spread the important information about obesity and they tackled a different angle about behavior

and community environment. There is not author present because it’s a organizatof obesity and

howion that’s involved with government research about the topic. Since it’s government research

it’s reliable and it give sources to lead you to more information about the topic. The reason I

believe this source will impact my research paper in a positive way because of what I look for. I

try to find sources that brings something different from other sources even with it being the same

topic there’s always more to the big part.

Andrezej jopkiewicz, Stanslaw Bodgan Nowak are the authors of “Incidence of

overweight and obesity in women aged 20-59 years Article” and it was published December

2018. This article is more focused about the female perspective of obesity and the focus of the

lifestyle of them and their diet that causes them to be the way they are. Also this conent brings

out the percentages of underweight, average weight, and overweight. The graphs on this article

shows a comparison of correct values and abdominal obesity between the ages of women 20-59.

This article presents that genetics, environmental. And mental factors are the reason for obesoty

in our world. The writer’s purpose of writing this is to evaluate women from ages 20-59 and their

connection with being obese. The audience of this piece are for women and for anyone who

wants to learn the concrete details about obese women. The authors are invloved in scholarly

research for Baltic Journal of Health and Physical Activity. This article brings out another view

for women and it will be important to my research to incude womena and men with the different

experiences they have.

The authors of “Physiological Features of Obesity in Children and Adolescents Article”

are Andreea Consuela Timnea, Larisa Poptop, Olivia Carmen Timnea, Vladimir Poptop,

Valureiu Jurat. The piece wanted to tackle the physiological features and the benefitial effects of

diets also the actions of trying to sustain a healthy diet durin the time it gets hard to fight the

moments of being obese. Also it explains how and why obesity is a major health issue for the

public and affects millions of peole all around. Most of our diets worldwide isn’t very healy on

average with all the fast food that is eaten with nonphysical acivity to stay in shape. This content

also explain the fatty acids that are mainly the problem with obesity such as polyunsaturated

fatty acids (PUFAs) n-3 and n-6. In this content it shows the cholesterol levels over a period of

testing and clinical and paraclinical evaluations. The purpose of the authors creaating this

information on this content is for research and to show the comparison with obese people being

treated and not. The audience of this journal was for other researchers and scientists who are

interested in results over a period of time. I know the authors are credible because they are

invovled in health education and sports. Also the references that are provided are very credible

and can be accounting for. With this ournal bringing the different testing of obesity and actually

testing wtih results shown it can help me with my research and have a great impact from what it

provided for me.

Helmer A, Kempf P, Laimer M, “The Role of Physical exercise in Obesity and Diabetes”

published in 2018. The deatils that this article brings inlcude continuous insulin treatment being

a necessity can increase the risk for body, treatment of obesity and diabetes and including trole

of physical exercise in type 1 diabetes, and the impact of physical exercise. In the research they

concluded a meta-analysis reported that weight gain was affected by the amount of dose of
insulin. Also the initiation of intensive insulin therapy is impacted by significant weight gains

due to corrections in glycosuria, diuresis, and catabolism. Moderate weight gain didn’t affect

cardiovascular risk profile when connected with improved glycemic control. This very effective

research to help other researchers to learn and see more of this topic from a different eye. This

source is credbile because the research can be followed up on and is very accountable to it’s

references. This journal provides the process of treatments with the same topic but have different

meaning and other health risk to learn from that can be included in the final paper.

Emily Norton, Joyce E. Miller, “Does breastfeeding lower the risk for childhood

obesity; what is the evidence?”, Novemeber 2018. This journal keys is on determining if

breastfeeding can have an impact on kids growing to become obesed. It aslo includes methods

and studies if it affects the kids in a positive or negative way. The authors state that co-morbid

conditions include metabolic, cardiovascular, orthopaedic, neurological, hepatic, pulmonary and

renal disorders. Also explained that childhood obesity profoundly and adversely affects

children’s physical health, academic performance, social and emotional well-being, self-esteem

and quality of life experience. This is aso fo researchers and scientists and of course to anyone

wanting to be aware of breastfeeding and what affects it ha on children if they are deciding to

breastfeed their children. The authors are scholarly people from the united kingdom and one as a

proessor and the other as a clinical lecturer. The references that are provided can be acounted for

and followed to prove it’s credibility. The reason I chose this source because it povides the

beginning of when we all are babis and growing up and if we were breatfed or not and how it

may have affected us. Having all the sources I have selected they all bring a piece to complete

the research paper I am presumed to complete soon.
