How do you experience the load shedding?

This week South Africans were hit by the

Last week during the State of the Nation
Address, President Ramaphosa announced
that Eskom will be split into two entities. One
that will own and operate the national grid’s
electricity distribution and one that will be
responsible for supply of electricity.
On Wednesday Eskom announced that
they are technically insolvent and that the

the South African economy. If the current
situation do not change, the company could

Government must make a plan. We heard
that there is a machine they did not fix in

Ms Nanny Magabane said: “Business wise it is affecting our sales. We work on a target and
when our customers come and there is no electricity we cannot help them. At home it often
goes out in the middle of my cooking. This is just too much. We will have to go solar. If it goes
on like this we won’t know what electricity is – we’ll go to gas and solar power”. With her are

The Matsepane family said: “The refrigerator is a problem. The food goes rotten. Appliances
get damaged and our children also cannot properly do homework or study. There is a lot of
disturbances because of load shedding. We cook on gas, but we cannot pump water or use
the fans and it is very hot. We have a chicken business and it is a problem. They cannot eat

record or produce music and
it is our business. Entrepre-

Mr Ephraim Ngele said:
