JAVA SE 7 update 21.

3 New Features and Components

The following components and integrations are included in the SAPERION ECM version 7.5 release:

4
3.1 SAPERION ECM Process Modeler

3.1 SAPERION ECM Process Modeler

SAPERION ECM version 7.5 now supports SAPERION ECM Process Modeler version 6.7.0.9.

3.2 ELM 6.0

This SAPERION release contains a new version of ELM, ELM 6.0, which includes Exchange Web Services
(EWS), as well as a new tagging feature and improved performance.

3.3 Integration Server

SAPERION ECM version 7.5 includes the new Integration Server. Using the Integration Server, you can
dynamically react to events in the SAPERION system, and create tasks that link to the events using
business logic. With the rule-based execution of business processes, you control exactly which conditions
start and execute which task configurations.

To manage the business rules and configure tasks, the Integration Server has a graphical user interface,
which makes it easy to manage complex rules in a clear and straightforward way. In addition, the
Integration Server includes a series of configurable standard tasks, which can be used for event
monitoring, logging, document indexing and more. Because of its high flexibility, its ease of configuration
and its scope and performance, the Integration Server is a suitable replacement for the SAPERION
Business Rules Server.

3.4 Unicode Support in User Management

With the exception of in the Workflow, the User Management feature now supports Unicode.

3.5 PDF Tools

The new 3-Heights™ PDF Desktop Producer (PDF Tools) printer drivers replace BlackIce and Amyuni,
resulting in improvements in both render speed and quality. PDF Tools supports most current file types.

3.6 Rich Client QBE Designer

A new property in the Rich Client QBE Designer allows you to increase the row height (in pixels) in a
result list.

3.7 Legacy Server

The SAPERION version 7.5 installer includes the legacy server, a 32-bit server that runs in a 64-bit
environment. The legacy server takes over functions from the core server, such as the display of

5

LEAD-compressed images in the Web Client. The legacy server can also be used to execute all core server
tasks (EventScripts) with a 64-bit server.

3.8 JCS Configuration Caching

It is now possible to activate the Java core server configuration cache. Once the cache has been activated,
SAPERION does not need to load all the core server data at restart, but only what's changed since the
last start (for example DDC changes, database configuration changes, etc.).

Additionally, the command "Refresh system files" is available in the MMC; it can be used to refresh data
during runtime without restarting the server.

3.9 Web Client

3.9.1 Re-Design
The Web Client user interface has been redesigned, with a new modern look, revamped dialogs and
icons, and improved usability. Required fields are marked as such, and settings can be saved. See the
user manual for more details.

3.9.2 Expanded Customizing

The following customizing options have been added to the Web Client with version 7.5:

+ ACLs, index values and comments can be specified before archiving, using a script
+ A script can also be used to display pop-up forms as index and query forms, as well as to listen
for button events
+ It is now possible to set (string) variables to dynamically gather and save data when storing a
document. This can be done via script or input field.

3.9.3 Expanded Workflow Functions

With SAPERION version 7.5, the Workflow contains the following enhancements:

+ You can now enter the reason for declining a Workflow

+ The next receiver for a workflow can now be chosen from a list.

3.9.4 Sending Email from the Web Client

In SAPERION version 7.5, there are two ways to send email from the Web Client:

+ Applet
Document can be sent as link, attachment or PDF. Multiple elements can be sent as a .zip file.
Works only with Outlook.

6
3.9 Web Client

+ Mailto:
Document can be sent as link, and multiple elements must be sent as a .zip file. Works with any
mail client. Web services must be installed.

3.9.5 Web Client Search

In the webclient.properties file, you can now set whether search uses 'like', or searches exactly. In contrast
to SAPERION version 7.1 SP4, the default setting is now to search on exact matches.

3.9.6 Simplified Updating of Web Client

With this new version of the Web Client, users have a directory for their custom configuration, separate
from the standard configuration directory. The custom configuration directory can be stored elsewhere

during an update to preserve the user's settings and then copied back into the application directory after
the update is done.

3.10 New Property for the Multi-Format Viewer

A new property has been added to SAPERION that allows you to enable/disable the use of the
multi-format viewer to display documents in forms.

3.11 New Skin for Rich Client

A new skin called "Cumulus" can be selected in the system settings. It matches the look of the
splashscreen and the Web Client, and is the default setting.

3.12 New Function for SYSCUSTOMICONNAME

To save space in databases, it is now possible to populate the SYSCUSTOMICONNAME field with icon
filenames (instead of the icons themselves) and then resolve these at runtime.

3.13 New OCX Interface

A new standard OCX interface in the form designer makes it possible for programmers to extend forms
with their own reusable OCX controls, without having to write EventScripts. The interface includes
various methods to access either query or index forms in the Rich Client.

3.14 Multi-Tenant Media

With SAPERION version 7.5, it is now possible to store objects to a multi-tenant medium using a new
server pool property which creates a new medium per tenant. This enables tenants to store their objects
separately from other tenants. This feature only works with NetApp and GenericNAS.
