A Message from Meg September 17, 2010

What a week I’ve had. I was thrilled to visit with Nancy Reagan
and absolutely honored to receive her endorsement. She has
long been an inspiration to me.

On Sunday, we had our second mall walk with MEGaWomen,

this time in Pasadena. What an energetic group, including three
generations of MEGaWomen -- a grandmother, mother and

daughter team.

The rest of the week, I visited with exciting entrepreneurs who

got their starts in California and, like me, want California to
thrive again. What I learned only increased my resolve to bring
California back as the world’s hub for innovation. Just listen to
these stories.

healthier. The company was born. At Yelp in San Francisco, two
former PayPal employees in 2004 decided to start an online
service rating local dentists, hairstylists and mechanics. Now
they’ve gone international. And I held my first Women for

who, at 23, founded an electronics company. Two decades
later, the firm remains one of only a few woman-owned
electronics companies.

This is why I love California. And it’s why we must do

everything we can to encourage more Function Drinks, Yelps
and Cristek Interconnects.

And on Thursday, I was so grateful to receive the endorsement

of the Los Angeles Police Protective League, which represents
more than 9,900 dedicated and professional sworn members of
the Los Angeles Police Department. They said I’m the most
prepared, the only one with the skills to turn around our state.
