STORY: Ang Kaibigan Kong Dilim

Shadow Play

Materials Needed:
flashlight white blanket objects with distinct shape

Instructions:
1. Hang a white blanket at the corner of the room. It is important to pick the corner of the
room that is dim or dark.
2. Position a flashlight behind, shining directly at the white blanket.
3. Place familiar objects between the light and the white blanket, as close to the blanket
as possible works best.
4. Let the children guess what objects are being shown.
Feely Bag

Materials Needed:
blindfold drawstring bag or colored plastic bag

Instructions:
1. In a drawstring or colored plastic bag (use a bag that is opaque), place familiar objects
inside.
2. One at a time, let the children put their hand inside to feel the objects and guess as
many objects as they can by using their sense of touch only. They are not allowed to
bring out the objects from the bag until everyone has tried guessing.
Crayon Etching: Mga Bagay sa Gitna ng Dilim

Materials Needed:
oslo paper crayons barbecue Sticks / popsicle sticks

Instructions:
1. Have children fill the paper with crayon shapes and patterns, making sure to press
hard. It is best to use light colors at this stage.
2. Once they have filled the paper with crayon patterns, have them color heavily over the
whole paper using black crayon to create a black layer.
3. Plan out a picture or design and using the barbecue /popsicle sticks, scratch the
design into the black layer. The light colors will show through where children scraped
away the black.
STORY: Si Hinlalaki
Hand Tracing – “I Have Two Hands”
Materials Needed:
bond paper crayons

Instructions:
Trace children’s hands on paper and have them color and design the hand that was traced.
Hand Printing – “I Like Color..”
Materials Needed:
poster paint (yellow, red, blue) bond paper craft paper

Instructions:
1. Ask each child what their favorite color is (yellow, red, or blue).
2. Paint each child’s hands with their desired color and make handprints on bond paper.
3. On a craft paper, make a graph and stick the handprints under the correct color.
4. The graph should show which color the class likes the most.
Shape Book (Hands)
Materials Needed:
bond paper crayons scissors

Instructions:
1. Make a booklet in the shape of a hand. (4-6 pages)
2. Let the children think about things that their hands can do. “My hands can….” Or “I use
my hands for…”
3. Draw with a pencil and color.
Hand Fan
Materials needed:
oslo paper pencil crayons/paint popsicle sticks scissors

Instructions:
1. Have children trace one hand on oslo paper and then let them decorate this.
2. Cut the hand figure and stick a popsicle stick behind it to make a fan.
Hand Lacing
Materials Needed:
oslo paper pencil one-hole puncher yarn

Instructions:
1. Give each one 1/2 oslo paper. Have each child trace her/his hand on it. Let the
child color or design it..
2. Put another ½ oslo under the paper with the hand figure then cut it to make two
hand figures.
3. Punch holes around the figure. Have children lace the holes with yarn.
STORY: Gusto ko ng Pansit Ngayon
Graphing: My Favorite Fruit
Materials Needed: craftpaper bond paper pencil crayon glue

Instructions:
1. On a craft paper, prepare a graph showing different fruits that the children may
choose.
1. Make the children draw their favorite fruit using pencils and crayons.
2. Cut the drawing and stick it on the graph.
My Favorite Vegetable Mobile – Stuffing
Materials needed:
old newspaper craft paper oslo crayons yarn
scissors permanent marker hangers stapler and stapler
wire

Instructions:
1. Draw your favorite vegetable on oslo paper and color it with crayons.
2. Put another blank oslo paper behind your vegetable drawing and cut it to make two
identical vegetable shapes.
3. Staple the two vegetable shapes together and leave a gap open. The gap should
be wide enough for you to put crumpled newspaper inside.
4. Fill the vegetables with crumpled newspapers and staple it shut.
5. Tie a yarn string at the tip of the vegetable and tie the other end of the yarn on a
hanger. The length of the yarn can vary so that the vegetables are hanging in different
lengths to make a mobile.
6. Tie four-six vegetables onto a hanger.
Food Memory Game
Materials needed:
set of food memory game

Instructions:
1. Shuffle the cards and lay them face down on a flat surface.
2. Youngest player goes first.
3. Players take turns turning over 2 cards at a time. The cards must be turned over
completely so that all players can see them.
4. A player makes a “match” if the two cards turned over match (ex. carrot-carrot)
5. When a “match” is made, the player puts the pair of cards beside them.
6. The player’s turn continues until they do not make a “match.”
7. If the 2 cards turned over are not identical, cards are turned back over in the same
place and the player’s turn ends.
8. Players try to remember all the cards that have been turned over.
9. When all the pairs have been found, the player with the most pairs wins
Food Go Fish
Materials needed:
Food Go Fish cards

Instructions:
1. Shuffle cards. Deal out seven cards each if there are two players, six cards for
three players, and five cards for four players.
2. Cards that are not dealt go into the draw pile in the center of the table.
3. The youngest player goes first and move clockwise. The first asks the one on
his/her left if he/she has a card. For example if the student has carrot he/she may
ask, “Do you have a carrot?”
4. If the asked player doesn’t have the specific card requested for, he/she says “Go
Fish for Food!” and the student requesting the card must pick from the top of the
draw pile. Then, it is the next player’s turn.
5. If the player gets a match on their turn, they can put it down on the table to show
everybody that they have a match. The first person to finish all his/her cards wins.
Food Domino
Materials needed:
Food domino cards

Instructions:
1. Deal the cards evenly to all the players.
2. The first player lays down a card on the table.
3. The next player lays down a card that can be connected to either picture on the
card on the table.
Mga Paborito ni Diding Mobile
Materials needed: craft paper oslo paper crayons yarn
scissors markers hangers

Instructions:
1.Have children draw Diding’s favorite food on oslo paper. Let children color this and
stick on folder.
2.Tie a yarn string at the tip of the drawing and tie the other end of the yarn on a
hanger.
The length of the yarn can vary so that their drawings are hanging in different lengths
to make a mobile.
3. Tie four to six drawings into one hanger.
Counting Book: Mga Paborito Kong Pagkain
Materials needed: 6-page booklet, crayons, pencils, scissors stapler
Instructions:
1.ON the first page, let children write number 1 and have them draw one favorite
food. On the second page, let them write 2 and have them draw two of another
favorite food. Do the same for numbers 3-5.
4.Encourage children to color their drawings. Staple all pages to make a book.

Instructions:
1. Have children draw different objects that begin with the letter K.
2. Encourage them to color and trace with markers.
3. Cut and stick on the figure of a big tomato on craft paper.

Variation:
Cut pictures of different objects that begin with the letter K from magazines.
Ang Tanim na Kamatis ni Peles Boardgame

Materials Needed: boardgame showing different story events die tokens or makers

Instructions:
1. Each player gets a paper clip as a marker.
2. Have children decide who will go first and in what direction they will go
3. First player rolls the die and move his marker according to the number shown in the die.
3. Players retell the part of the story where their marker lands. .
Mini-Book: Ang Mga Pananim ni Peles
Materials Needed:
6-page mini booklet pencils markers

Instructions:
1. On the front page, let children write the title “Ang Mga Pananim ni Peles.” . Then let
them design their title page.
2. On each page of the booklet, have them draw and write about the different things that
Peles did to grow his tomatoes. .

Materials needed:
1/8 manila paper bond paper crayons colored markers

Instructions:
1. On bond paper, draw different plants that Peles can grow. Color and cut them.
2. Stick them all on the manila paper to make a garden.
Wall Story – Story Sequence

Materials Needed: 1/8 manila paper bond paper crayons colored markers

Instructions:
1. On bond paper, draw a scene from the story. Teacher should make sure that all
important scenes will be drawn. It is best to give one scene per child.
2. Color and trace with marker.
3. At the bottom of the page, write about the scene.
4. When all the scenes are finished, as a class, arrange the drawings in the correct
sequence and stick them on the wall.
Plant Parts Memory Game

Materials Needed:
1. 5 to 6 pairs of plant parts stuck on cardboard

Instructions:
1. Place all cards face down on the table.
2. Each player turns over two cards during his turn. If he gets a pair of identical plant part
cards, he gets to keep the pair and takes another turn.
3. If the plant cards do not match, the player puts back the cards into their original places.
4. The player who is able to get the most number of pairs wins the game.

Ang Pagpapatulog Kay Prinsesa Aya – Wall Story

Materials Needed: crayons bond paper craft paper pencils

Instructions:
1. Have children draw and write about how the King and Queen tried to make
Princess Aya sleep.
2. Let them review the story and arrange the drawings in the correct sequence
together with the class.
3. Help children stick the drawings (in sequential order) on to a craft paper.
Banig Para Kay Prinsesa Aya – Paper Weaving

Materials Needed: construction paper glue scissors ruler

Instructions:
1. Cut a piece of construction paper or any colored paper into a square.
2. Fold the square in half.
3. Cut evenly-spaced slits starting from the folded edge and continuing up to
about a half-inch from the opposite edge. It may be helpful to draw vertical lines
to use as guides while you cut.
4. Open up the paper.
5. Cut colored paper strips. The strips should be longer than the length of your
square’s side.
6. Let a child take one paper strip and weave it horizontally across the slits, going
over and under the slits.
7. Push the woven strip to the top and have him/her start with another one. The
second strip should be woven in an opposite pattern as the first. If the first paper
strip goes over and under across slits, the second strip should go under and over
the slits.
8. Have him/her weave more paper strips in an alternating pattern until his/her
paper weave is full.
9. When it is all filled up, have him/her flip the whole square weave. Let him/her
apply glue at the ends of each paper strip.
10. Help the child fold the excess length of each strip inwards and press to glue
them in place.
11. Help him/her flip the square weave again so that the folded ends are
concealed at the bottom.
12. Cut a larger piece of construction paper or craft to frame their paper weave /
banig. Glue the paper weave on the top of the frame and have children decorate
the frame.
My Favorite Character - Stick Puppets

Materials Needed:
popsicle sticks yarn craft folder glue crayons tape scissors

Instructions:
1. Have children draw their favorite character from the story on a craft folder.
2. Color and cut the drawing.
3. Cut and stick yarn for his/her character’s hair if needed.
4. Put the puppet right-side-down on the table.
5. Position the popsicle stick with the end near the center of the puppet.
6. Cut one or two 1” lengths of tape and tape the skewer to the puppet.
7. Have children play with their puppet. They can also use their banig (paper
weaving project) to add to their pretend play.
Si Prinsesa Aya na Ayaw Matulog board game

Materials Needed:
board game spinner stick puppets (as tokens) – stick on a ball of clay or cube
tokens or makers

Instructions:
1. For the spinner, the rules are:
a. Kinuwentuhan – move forward 3 spaces
b. Nagdala ang mananayaw – move backward 1 space
c. Salamangka – skip
d. Pinainom ng gamot – go back to start

2. At each turn, player spins the spinner to determine action to be taken on the
board game. For example, if he/she lands on the space “Kuwentuhan” , he/she
moves forward 3 spaces. If it lands on “Nagdala ang mananayaw, he/she moves
back 1 one space.

Materials Needed:
6-page flipbook in the shape of a foot (title page included) pencils crayons

Instructions:
1. Have them write “What can your feet do?” on the title page.
2. On each page, let them draw and write about what their feet can do. (ex. My
feet can dance.)
3. Have them color their drawings.
Slipper Match – Memory Game

Materials needed: one set of slipper memory game

Instructions:

Instructions:

Feet Flip Book

Materials needed: crayons pencils markers construction Paper or Oslo paper

Instructions:
1. On one oslo paper, have children trace their feet with pencil and marker.
2. Let them color and design their footprint.
3. On another oslo paper, have them trace their feet again.
4. Then have them draw what they can wear on your feet. Let them color their
drawings.
5. When both drawings are done, staple them together to make a feet flip book.
How far can you jump?

Materials needed: tape measure yarn scotch tape craft paper

Instructions:
1. Show the children how to do a long jump.
2. Using a tape measure, measure how far each child jumps.
3. Use the yarn to copy how far each child jumps.
4. Paste the yarn to a chart on craft paper labeled “How far can you jump?”
How many cubes long is your foot?

Materials Needed:
craft paper
crayons
ruler
pentel pen
inch cubes
Instructions:
1. Have children measure the length of their feet using inch cubes. Start from the
tip of your toes to the end of your heel.
2. On a craft paper, make a bar graph entitled “How many cubes long is your
foot?.” Names of students would be at the bottom and the length of foot in inch
cubes on the side.
3. Have children record their measurements on the graph.

Materials Needed:
1. Bond Paper
2. Crayons
3. Craft Paper

Instructions:
1. Go on a trip around the classroom or school.
2. Ask the children to draw the window, door, and blackboard on the map (craft
paper) to get the children started.
3. Point out the window, door, and blackboard on the map. Talk about what more
they can add. What is beside the window? What is beside the door?
4. Let the children draw the parts of the classroom or school that they saw and
add it to the map
