BOLIVIAN CULTURE

Bolivian culture is one of the most diverse in the world, for the gastronomy, a
variety of dances and traditions.
First, Spanish is the main and official language of Bolivia. However there are some
39 other living languages used in the country spoken by people in different regions,
Bolivia has departments instead of states and each department is very different
from other, in the Altiplano we find La Paz city that has the highest lake in the
world, the Titicaca Lake, wich is located between Bolivia and Peru, this amazing
country also has the best carnival, for many tourists Oruro's Carnival is better than
the Brazilian. Oruro's Carnival has been declared Masterpiece Intangible Heritage
of Humanity by Unesco since 2001, in this unforgettable event we can appreciate
all the typical dances and costumes of each department, many Bolivian dances
had been copied and distorted for other nearby countries like Peru and Chile,
because Bolivian culture is richer than this one mentioned.

Some of these countries even promote our natural wonders as if they were theirs;
this is the case of the Salar de Uyuni, which Chile promotes as if it were Chilean
even if it is located in Bolivian territory because Bolivia also has the biggest salt
desert in the world.

Second, When we talk about Bolivian Culture is important to mention the

characteristics of Bolivian society, the good and the bad ones, gifts are usually
given in meetings as a way of thanks, punctuality is not important, you must use
the most appropriate greeting for the time of day, good morning, good
evening.Their gastronomy is impressive you can enjoy the most elaborate and
hearty meals, with abundant fresh vegetables and beef, chicken, or pork, that are
eaten at ceremonial occasions, such as the life cycle events of baptism, marriage
and other events, people like to celebrate special occasions with meeting with
great typical dishes. There is a lot of informal commerce, coca chewing is very
common for people.

And Third, If we talk about history, we know that Bolivia had very bad politicians,
the Bolivian economy would be much better if there had not been so many
robberies and bad economic management but that is not the most controversial
topic of Bolivian history, Bolivia lost a lot of his territory originally because of wars,
Bolivia would not have lost the sea if they had not been invaded on a holiday. If the
festivities had stopped, it could have been avoided losing the sea, a situation that
cost Bolivians so much.
In recent years Bolivia has filed a lawsuit against The Haya to recover the sea,
which it lost last year against Chile.

Finally, we can conclude that Bolivia is a country full of all, If you come to this
country it promises to be a life changing experience, you can learn a lot of the
cultural diversity, about traditions, I wish more people visit Bolivia
and that our culture be recognized as ours for the world without being tergibized.
Bolivians must work hard to show the richness of our culture and become a country
much more tourist since we have many wonders and unique places, extreme
sports, a variety of climates and landscapes, food, traditions and dances. Bolivia is
a country worth visiting and taking one of the best experiences of your life.
