Thanks for the updated guide I will have to update my settings now. I was wondering if there is a way to verify if thermald is
working or not. I heard that it was updated to work with haswell but I do not know how to verify if it is working or not.

Nothing I thought.
Only when playing diablo with thermald enabled the game stutters every 2-3 seconds fps between 3-20.

OK. Please install and boot from Linux 3.14 LTS series instead newer - 3.15 or 3.16 series - for intel it is buggy.

Replace current GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX line for - THIS flags are for Linux 3.14 only - not newer:

Please using 3.14 kernel.
Note: [ 0.457415] acpi PNP0A08:00: _OSC failed (AE_ERROR); disabling ASPM is known ACPI kernel bug since
Kernel: linux
3.13.x - BIOS upgrade may fix it (if is available), otherwise ignore it. All other is just fine.

Well, issue still the same. Perhaps a wine problem, when playing Civ V native everythings fine. For me it's ok, can live with
that.
Thanks anyway

I recommended enable thermald for lower CPU temperatures. Wine have lots of issues...
EDIT:
Samsung SSD drives have issue failed to get NCQ Send/Recv Log Emask since Linux 3.12 release.
NOTE: If this issue disturb You - downgrade kernel to 3.10 LTS.

My system is very fast, stable and always responsive since installation. Up to today I didn't notice any issue. So for playing
I'll disable thermald.
Staying @kernel316 & unstable 'cause it's so f***ing fast and interesting
