THE MOOLADHARA CHAKRA

H. H. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi

This centre was created first, at the very outset of creation of Kundalini in the Virata, to bestow on it
the only son of Adi Shakti, Shri Ganesha. Mooladhara Chakra means the centre which is the support of
the root of the Creation.

As human beings are created in the image of God (Virata) this centre is also expressed first in every
human being. Shri Ganesha, who is manifested in this chakra, is the symbol of eternal childhood.

The Mooladhara Chakra is placed in the lowest region of the trunk of human beings about one inch
above the centre of the 'seat'. This most vital and important centre is in a subtle form. The gross
expression of this centre is the pelvic plexus, as described in medical terminology. The plexus
surrounds the subtle centre.

Shri Ganesha is created out of the earth element. In a Divine Incarnation its colour is like that of clay
and it shines. But in the realized human beings it shines like neon misty or orange light. In the ordinary
human beings (Asahaja) it appears in coral colour. But in the wrong type of sadhakas (students) it
appears in red colour. The Mooladhara Chakra in an ordinary person looks like four threads of wicks
joined in a swastika shape. In a clairvoyant person, because he is a wrong type of sadhaka who uses the
sympathetic nervous system, it appears in deep red colour. Sometimes one sees only the chakra like a
wheel rotating in various shades of deep red and blue black coloured circular pattern. This happens
because the temper of Shri Ganesha is expressed against the clairvoyant sadhaka. The clairvoyance is
only achieved with the help of spirits by an unrealized person who works through the sympathetic
nervous system. It is an unauthorized disturbance to Shri Ganesha. In a realized person it appears as if
the wicks of the swastika are illumined with beautiful radiant lights. It appears like four pinkish orange
coloured flames, which are silent but living. The whole vision is like a four-petalled lotus in a realized
soul with the petals looking like silent flames. The lotus has a deep centre, which is deep blue; it
changes its colour to misty grey depending on the mood of Shri Ganesha. Out of this ocean of deep
colour, the one who is realized can peep in meditation. He visualizes the melting of deep blue into light
blue and sudden flashes are clearly visualized like clouds and lightning. They spread beautiful clouds
of joy. The lightning is followed by the trunk of Shri Ganesha. After some time Shri Ganesha appears
like a small child. He looks static to most realized people in the beginning but later on He expresses
movements many a time. Each of His movements creates a new wave of experience of joy and
tranquility. In the Mooladhara Chakra of a Divine Incarnation, He appears dancing like a living child
and sometimes like a very majestic, wise philosopher. In the case of Adi Shakti’s incarnation He is the
ever-ready, alert, obedient Child. His body, face, hands and legs all express His sweet, delicate,
childlike personality. Even a glimpse of such a dedicated, innocent, absolutely very powerful child, fills
the heart of the Adi Shakti with the sweetest feeling of love for Her child (Vatsalya). In Her presence,
if any devotee takes His name, She feels very much glorified and grants all the benediction (Waradana)
on such a devotee.

The swastika represents the four dimensions of awareness and the meeting point in the fifth dimension,
which moves diagonally ascending above the clockwise and anticlockwise movements of the chakra.
The first line 'A' suggests the Mahakali power that enters into the being and goes out, while the line ‘B’
expresses the Mahasaraswati power that enters into the being and is retained. By clockwise movements
he creates the creativity and the essence of the aesthetics is generated to give joy to the artists to
manifest it in his creation of Art. The anticlockwise is for destruction of all that is ugly and dead. The
1
direction on the right or left side Shri Ganesha moves, speaks for His activity in the subject according
to the need of the subject. If the activity of the subject is of indulgence, then Ganesha bends towards
the left side, and if the activity of the subject is of forced abstinence, then He bends towards the right
side. Shri Ganesha bends to a point, but if there is too much activity on one side, then He recedes into
the abode, leaving off the balancing activity. Thus His domain is invaded by entities from the
subconscious mind. The steady position shows the predominance of third mood of Satwa Guna, which,
expressing temperance of the subject, speaks for the proper human sustenance. This happens when the
Kundalini is awakened by Sahaja Yoga. The steadiness of Shri Ganesha improves, indicating the steady
ascent of a Sahaja Yogi. Later on, Shri Ganesha becomes a living personality.

In matter, Shri Ganesha emits electromagnetic vibrations. The four sides of the swastika act as valences
in matter. The element is called as neutral which is tetravalent. These are the most evolved elements,
especially carbon that is tetravalent. Therefore, carbon is the basis of organic chemistry. Life is only
possible if carbon is present in the compound. The other elements with plus or minus valences are
evolved through the sustenance power of Shri Ganesha. This can be better understood if one studies the
periodic laws of chemistry in this light.

In the ancient times when some seekers tried to visualize the Mooladhara Chakra, they saw part of His
trunk and were confused. The trunk looked like a coil, which was shining. They thought it was the
Kundalini. This is a fundamental mistake and it is the greatest mistake.

Shri Ganesha is placed in the pelvic plexus, which controls sex. Hence, people who confused Kundalini
with Shri Ganesha also confused Her with sex. The horrible mistake brought forth the most damaging
theory that one can awaken the Kundalini through sex, whereas Kundalini is placed at a much higher
point of Mooladhara, in the triangular bone of coccyx, known as the abode of the (seeker's) Mother (the
Mooladhara). Actually, the Mooladhara Chakra, that controls sex, is placed at a much lower point. In
short, every human being is already born as a sublimated personality. Shri Ganesha’s chaste relation to
His Mother is the basis of all Creation. The evolution of a seeker will collapse if his seeking is based on
such an absurd ideology, i.e. evolution or Yoga through sex. It is the worst sin one can commit against
the holiest relationship. All such novice or deliberate practices are very dangerous for the seeker. It is
quite possible that the seeker may find himself landed in hell instead of the Kingdom of God when he
dies. Shri Ganesha and his human form, Jesus Christ, cannot forgive this sin of human beings. That
would explain why many have suffered by tampering with the chastity of Kundalini.

Pranava is transformed into the ocean of holiness by Shri Ganesha. The waves spread along the petals
of the Mooladhara Chakra. A person, who is much higher, in the state of God realization, has a very
evolved formation of its pattern. In such personalities the Mooladhara Chakra acts like a very highly
evolved living organism.

The petals of the chakra have arrow-like lines, which appear as small ripples. Gradually they grow with
the purity, i.e. identifying with the sense of dignity of chastity of the seeker in many lives. These arrow-
like patterns catch in their folds the all-pervading Power that flows down from the top of the head of a
realized soul as grace. Such a person may not be an artist but he will enjoy art because of his absolute
aesthetic values. They form a network of catchments in four directions. The analysis is done by Shri
Ganesha. The petal which is pointing downwards has three such arrows. By the first one it expresses
the harmony the seeker enjoys. By the second one is expressed the sense of balance. By the third arrow
it expresses the sensitivity of the subject to innocence. He becomes so virtuous that he abhors sinful
acts and exhibitions. All these three are developed fully by the complete dedication, innocence and
chastity of the seeker to Shri Ganesha. The subject, through the grace of Shri Ganesha, which is
2
awakened and steadied, achieves ascendance by doing proper self-cultivating penance. This penance is
done under the guidance of a Guru after realization. It is as if all the patterns get threaded together. By
this new achievement the seeker can feel as if he is identified with the Joy of Creation.

The second petal, which is facing towards the left hand side, also has three patterns of waves. By the
first wave one achieves the complete mastery over evil enticement. The temptations within ones self
are overcome by the second ripple, which suggests that the seeker can expel the spirits who are outside
his personality or hovering over other fellow beings. The third ripple when developed, gives one the
power of spontaneous victory, overpowering the spirits hovering on other people. Merely the sight of
such a subject would make the possessed person shake. When these are threaded into one integrated
manifestation, one feels the complete glory of one's own majesty and divinity and its effects are evident
in the humble, confident personality of a very powerful identity.

The third petal, facing to the right side, has also the growth of three patterns of ripples, appearing one
after another. By the first, a person develops humility to God (Shraddha), by the second, develops
wisdom, and by the third, becomes one with knowledge. When all these three are threaded together into
one integrated expression or manifestation, one feels the all-implicit, witnessing experience of
awareness. The knowledge of inner being and all that is unknown becomes known as if the seeker
enters the library of knowledge: whatever he wants to know he has just to turn his attention to that
subject.

The petal that is facing upwards has also three patterns as waves. The first one gives the
seeker fearlessness because of the essence of security caught by the fold. The second
one makes the seeker aware of the collective consciousness, and the third one grants
power of Dharma. When fully developed, the subject assumes the complete
identification with the sustenance (re1igion) within. All these, when threaded together,
give you a dynamic personality, by which the seeker experiences the nectar of existence
(Amrita). He never commits sin. Whatever may appear wrong to ignorant people, his
every movement and doing adds to the universal music of love.

This subtle centre (chakra) is the root of all the subtle centres. It is placed outside the spinal chord to
emit, through Shri Ganesha, the divine power of holiness and sublimity (Pranava) in its pure and
integrated form in the Void. Another function of this chakra is to record everything that is happening in
the Void (Bhavasagara). The recorded events and problems are communicated to the Mother
Kundalini. Here they go on accumulating as karmas and when the subject dies, he is born again
according to his karmas. Shri Ganesha, as corrector, guides the subject by sending symbols in dreams.
In psychology, perhaps Shri Ganesha is called as Id. Maybe Id might be meaning Ida, which is the
channel for the subconscious mind and is controlled by Shri Ganesha. He is at the very root of this
channel. The chakra is outside the spinal chord and its exposure causes it to be very sensitive to outside
happenings. It also catches the reactions of other chakras and records the experiences captured by them.
It catches all this information from the Bhavasagara, and Shri Ganesha, after consulting His
counterparts and other deities, releases information to the subject through various information systems
of the unconscious mind, like Id.

The realized personalities have to ascend gradually in their surrender to the innocence of Shri Ganesha.
The people who are simple, chaste like small children, achieve very quickly spontaneous salvation
(Sahaja Yoga).

The central nervous system feels the sensation of joy, and as the light of its awareness increases, very
3
unique experiences of blissful joy are felt. They can be differentiated, and also recognized, by practice.
In the Sanskrit language appropriate names are given to the four types of joys that are enjoyed by the
development of these four types of rippled identities. They are as follows: Paramananda, Sahajanand,
Veerananda, Yogananda. They are created by the four petals that generate four powers known as
Gupta, Prasaka, Karala and Vikrala.

The Divine Power (Pranava) creates sound when it moves through the Kundalini. In the four petals,
when it enters, it makes four types of sounds, which are heard as words. They are 'wham', 'sham',
'shym', and 'sam'. The phonetic Sanskrit language originated, and was based on, the words that are
created through the different chakras and their petals when the Kundalini passes through them. It is said
that God made this Creation in seven days. Monday is the day of the Adi Shakti and Tuesday is that of
Shri Ganesha (Mooladhara). The realized people should worship this chakra on Tuesday. This chakra,
because it is exposed outside the spinal chord, is much more sensitive than other chakras. Some
realized souls can remove this chakra and bring it outside for cleansing, and can put it back to its proper
place. There is no need for Sahaja Yogis to employ such a method. The best way to cleanse, for Sahaja
Yogis, is to be pure in ones heart to lead a chaste life full of good thoughts and deeds. By innocence
one can make the attention very pure and unattached. Shri Ganesha as Jesus Christ in human form
looks after the entire race of human beings, because He is the substratum (Adhara) of the universe. He
is a living god and is all the time active. No human words can describe the glory of Shri Ganesha. Shri
Ganesha has created the spiritual fire in nature, which ignites every petal of every chakra. Shri
Ganesha's master (Guru) is His Father, God Almighty Himself, while all the other deities, even His
Mother the Adi Shakti, are the disciples of the Primordial Master (Dattatreya). He is beyond human
races and Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesha also cannot reach anywhere near his absoluteness in virtue. He
took the human form of Jesus Christ, who is the embodiment of holiness and innocence. He is the
support (Ashraya) of the world. He exists at the Agnya chakra, which is the door of the Kingdom of
Heaven (Sahasrara of the Virata).

This chakra is made from the ‘A’ part of ‘AUM’, which is made from three syllables (mantras) A, U,
M. The mantra 'A' represents the Mahakali power of Adi Shakti. Therefore this chakra was created by
Mahakali as Gauri, who was Shri Ganesha's Mother. Later on She hands over Her only child to
Mahalaxmi who, as the Virgin Mary, gives birth to Jesus Christ.

Shri Ganesha is the most awakened and alert (Jagrut Awastha) deity because it is placed outside the
spinal chord. The self-pride of Shri Ganesha encompasses the universe, so no one should insult Him.

In the human beings, the subtle Mooladhara Chakra is placed at the centre of the seat at the pelvic
plexus, which is the gross expression and is connected with the left and right sympathetic nervous
system.

When any effort is put in by obstinate abstinence or by indulgence, the excitement of the sympathetic
activity starts. If one exerts too much pressure of over-activity the subject's attention starts moving on
the Ida Nadi or Pingala Nadi as the case may be. First the vision of Mooladhara Chakra is seen, which
looks like a many deep-coloured kaleidoscopic wheel. The deep red colour is due to the anger of Shri
Ganesha because of unauthorized probing in His territory. This kind of objectionable approach is
insulting to Him and His Mother (Kundalini). Inside the centre of this wheel one can even see the
heated up Shri Ganesha if one tries to probe further. Sometimes the seeker may get a shock. Such an
intruder may feel terrible heat in the body and one may suffer restlessness. Especially horrible
experiences of the past may ensue. Some people would howl and jump like animals. Some seekers who
are impotent type of exhibitionists may become nude. These are all very harmful methods. They kill all
4
the chances of awakening. Instead of rising to the unconscious realm the seeker enters into the past
because Shri Ganesha, controlling the door, recedes in His anger. The subconscious mind and the
human awareness are reduced to the animal awareness. How can one rise into a superhuman stage if he
tries to become an animal?

Therefore, the sadhaka who insults His Mother is greatly punished by Shri Ganesha. No one can harm
Him for He is inviolable under the garb of love of His Mother. His indestructibility is shown in the
resurrection of Christ. When some seekers try hard to reach Shri Ganesha, they can only work through
the sympathetic nervous system. Their attention only moves in the right or left channels as the central
channel of the parasympathetic nervous system is much beyond their reach. Eventually, such
misguided seekers become clairvoyant. They are dangerously sidetracked. Their attention is only
thrown on the fringes of the chakra without any control. It rotates on the outer-most gross border.
Sometimes they describe the vision of the chakra. It seems like the angry wrath of Shri Ganesha,
boiling out as red and blue coloured fire which rotates at the surface of the chakra. It does not make any
sense to these ignorant people. The chakra in reality is like a bulbous flower in shape, like a morning
glory flower. When the seeker still continues in his obstinate pursuits, then He appears in hot red colour
and warns the seeker to stop the unauthorized probing. Even then if the seeker does not give up, He
punishes by His anger expressed as tremendous heat or burning all around the neck. This may happen
without any warning. Sometimes the seeker starts jumping like an animal or burning with heat without
any previous indication. All such symptoms are due to the insult the seeker bestows on Shri Ganesha
and His Mother while many stupid people call it as Kundalini awakening.

If seekers want really to achieve the ultimate, they should give up methods which are novice and
foolish. Perhaps they do not realize the amount of harm done to their Kundalini. The damage caused is
not temporary. It may freeze the Kundalini for many lives. The central path of Sushumna also becomes
slippery due to the friction caused by the anger of various deities. The deities may sleep or neglect with
anger. In such cases it has been found out in the practice of Sahaja Yoga, that Kundalini, when
awakened, falls down from the summit point of fontanel bone (Brahmarandra). It is very strenuous for
Sahaja Yogis to hold the Kundalini of such spoiled subjects in the awakened stage. Therefore, to work
Sahaja Yoga on such a subject becomes an impossibility.

The seeker must know that if he does not have a sense of chastity and is not leading a life of
temperance, he cannot cheat Shri Ganesha who fixes him up. What can Sahaja Yoga or the Divine
Mother do about it, Shri Ganesha being the best judge?

There are many who appear to outside appearances very sober, especially among the so-called elite
people who seem very correct and balanced personalities. Their uncontrollable passion and lust exhibits
through their adulterous eyes. It is very common to see in fashionable groups, a game of flirting
displayed in a very discreet manner. Old and young alike are lost in the most depraved style of human
behaviour. Their eyes are all the time moving. Even a chaste person meeting the eyes of such a person
catches the infection. Thus a society of very corrupt habits is formed, so much so that any sight of the
opposite sex, person of any age, creates a wave of sex suggestion to the subject. The battered soul
remains always in the state of excitement and agitation. In human beings the eyes are not meant for sex
experience, but human beings who are indulging in such habits become impotent very early in life.
Actually, such a subject is the best medium to be the possession of some depraved, sex hungry,
impotent spirit or spirits waiting to hover on some living human being. The more the subject indulges
in such habits, the more spirits descend on him.

The pathetic subject compromises with this ugly habit by denying that he has such a habit. But Shri
5
Ganesha is an awakened deity and He knows every hypocrite. Such a person may loose his eyesight or
may have very weak eyes. There are many other causes of blindness, but this habit definitely causes
reddening of the eyes or blackouts of the eyes very early in life. Such people loose their memory and
later on they cannot enjoy anything else but sex perversion through the eyes. If they go to a music party
or drama they are busy enjoying this kind of useless habit and wasting their time. So it is wise not to
cheat Him. If one does not deserve to be realized, it is very hard to recommend your case to Shri
Ganesha. Such people, whose eyes are under the control of spirits, should try to keep their eyes
downcast. Then the spirits depart from them permanently.

There are another type of seekers who proclaim that they are frank and not hypocrites. They are even
greater sinners, because they have no fear and sing the glory of sin and evil perversion. For such
arrogant souls the only way is to surrender to Shri Ganesha whole-heartedly. They must correct their
personal life and ask Shri Ganesha for forgiveness all the time. They must be warned with great love,
that those who are proud of their sinful life and enjoy their depravity will go directly to hell by the
temper of Shri Ganesha.

The head of Shri Ganesha is that of the elephant, which is the conveyance of Adi Shakti and is the
symbol of reality and majesty. Moreover, the head of an animal carries the personality of eternal
childhood, because in an animal the ego and superego do not develop as in human beings. In the case
of the human being, the brain gets completely covered by ego and superego. On top of his head, the
fontanel bone (Brahmarandra) is calcified. Thus he gets separated from the all-pervading Divine
Power. He develops a separate identity. But Shri Ganesha is always one with the all-pervading power
because He has an elephant’s head. The trunk of Shri Ganesha is His own Kundalini. He has only one
chakra, which is placed at the end of His trunk, absolutely unprotected, without any fear of any evil or
sinful contamination, as He is unblemishable. He is the only deity who has His chakra placed outside
His body. He is the fearless warrior of the war of good and evil.

The Mooladhara Chakra is placed in the pelvic plexus, which lies in the pelvic region. It has got four
sub-plexuses, which are:
1. Inferior haemorrhoidal that controls the rectum,
2. Vesicle - controls the urinary b1adder,
3. Prosthetic - controls the prostate which controls the sex organs,
1. Uterine - in women controls the uterus and in men it controls the seminal balls.
The details of these sub-plexuses are very elaborately described in any one of the books written on the
autonomous nervous system.

By the enlightenment of this chakra a person gets complete mastery over his temptations, especially in
his sex life. The relation between Pranava and Shri Ganesha can be illustrated by an analogy as
follows: The pure water from the household, when used, is thrown as wastewater. It carries all
impurities and flows through an outlet outside the house and creates a mud pool in which a lotus is
born (Pankaja - born out of mud) on which the innocent, purifying, unblemishable, unattached
personality of Shri Ganesha is bestowed. Because of His unique chastity and purity, He exists in the
impurities. To achieve Self-realization, if one takes to the activities of indulgences and perversions in
sexual life, it would be like wading through dirty wastewater to enter into the house through an outlet.

Sex is like any other sensory organ, which gives pleasure. It is a very small part of human life. But this
subtle centre (chakra) is placed inside the gross plexus, which is outside the spinal chord. Hence sex,
which is a sub-plexus, assumes a greater sensitivity. All other chakras have their subtle centres placed
inside the spinal chord or the brain. By the proper understanding of Shri Ganesha and by His worship,
6
one can handle sex with wisdom and temperance. As said before, the human evolution has nothing to
do with sex. On the contrary, the subject is informed through the symbol of Shri Ganesha as an eternal
child, which may appear in dreams sometimes, because at the time of the subject’s ascent and
consequent rebirth he has to be innocent of sex, like a child feels towards his mother (the Kundalini).
He should forget his sex during Sadhana, when he is facing the Adi Shakti in Sahaja Yoga.

As explained before, when the subject, in ignorance or misguidance, tries to enter through the sex act
into meditation it would be like entering this beautiful house of his being through the outlet. If he tries
to drink the water of the mud that is collected near the outlet of the house, he cannot get the benefits of
pure drinking water. On the contrary, he would be very much harmed. He is punished severely by Shri
Ganesha who is watching, sitting in the lotus of Mooladhara Chakra. Moreover, no one can enter into
the bathroom of His Mother (Gauri) who is in Her privacy, having Her bath. If He sees anybody
entering in through the wrong side, He gets into a temper and throws waves of terrific heat through His
trunk. This starts exciting the sympathetic nervous system, and creates tremendous heat. It explains
why people who try to raise the Kundalini in the wrong way have felt a tremendous heat that is the
expression of Ganesha's punishment to them. They describe their horrible experiences and even the
name of Kundalini awakening makes other people shudder with fear. No wonder those who read such
books shun the idea of meditation. In India, where ladies take a bath at a well, pool or a river, Shri
Ganesha's statue is erected with an appropriate pooja (worship).

Actually, Kundalini is your beloved Mother and you are Her dearest only child. She loves you more
than anything else in the universe and is interested only in giving you the supreme joy through your
second birth. She is born again and again with you and resides in your Mooladhara, the triangular bone
of your sacrum. She records your problems and waits till the subject meets a realized soul as guru or a
Sahaja Yogi. They are authorized to give spontaneous awakening. She can never cause any harm to
you, but if an unauthorized person enters into Her privacy She freezes with shame. If some depraved
gurus try to put sex on Her She gets very angry within Herself. Then She allows Shri Ganesha to
express His temper. The burning in the body and all other sympathetic symptoms, even like cancer, are
caused by His anger. Shri Ganesha is an innocent child and only He can stay with Her in Her privacy.

The people who try to befool innocent seekers and exploit them by dirty habits are permanently
doomed to be in hell. A young doctor who had been to one of the so-called godmen’s (bhagwan’s)
lectures came to see me. I was really shocked the way he was brainwashed. He was arguing that one
cannot get unity with reality (Yoga) without the sex act. As he was told, without the sex act it is
impossible to get realization and second birth. As a doctor, he knew that one cannot get birth without
sex. When I asked him, did you go into sex to be born to create your own self; what did you do to
become your own being? He was surprised at my question. He accepted that it was the sex life of his
parents that brought forth his existence in this world. And when I asked him, would you like to discuss
the sex life of your parents, he did not know what to answer. Though the simple truth that there is no
relation between second birth and sex is hard to digest for the people who have gone too far with so-
called experiments, still, whatever is good for your emancipation must immediately be heeded. In the
modern times, under the name of liberation of sex, many young people have taken to perversions of
extremely depraved sex life. In many cases it is done in ignorance, but in many cases it is the symptom
of corruption and degradation of human beings. If this mistake is accepted by the subject, Sahaja Yoga
helps the seeker to correct his injured and sick Kundalini path. Such seekers, if they change their habits,
their attention, overloaded with adulterous inquiry, becomes light, and gradually they steady their Shri
Ganesha. But, there are many seekers who have already become slaves of sex and are not willing to
turn round. They are settled as if they have reached their destination. By too much indulgence, the
subject gets possessed by lusty, ugly entities from the subconscious. He cannot enjoy sex.
7
In conclusion, one must understand that sex has no play in evolution. Actually, sex is not an energy. It
is a point where you feel the presence of pleasure, because a little inkling of that pleasure of
thoughtless awareness is felt for a short moment when Ganesha or Sushumna (Parasympathetic)
releases one millionth of Pranava. This happens in every chakra wherever there is a need for Pranava.
The only difference is that Mooladhara is outside and hence one feels the Pranava for a short time,
while in other chakras one does not feel it. Shri Ganesha does not understand sex. When He finds there
is activity, He innocently supplies Pranava. Even His anger is innocent. He only knows His Mother has
asked Him not to allow anyone to enter from the back door. When Pranava is felt, it creates the
thoughtless awareness for a split of a second and curiosity for that joy is aroused. In the state of
complete realization, the complete limbic area in the brain is filled with Pranava. They have
experimented with a monkey's brain by excitement of the limbic area. They have found out that very
slight excitement of this area gives tremendous joy to them. So one can understand why the fully
realized souls have no interest in physical or mental sex activities. They are all the time drenched in
complete bliss, an eternal joyous state of witnessing of the drama of life.

Those who take to other activities in life and start taking interest in other manifestations and other
higher sublimated pursuits gradually do not have so much interest in sex. The baser instinct works in a
sublimated way; their attention moves to the higher centres. They derive pleasure from thinking,
painting or singing or any such activities. But this is the working of the sympathetic system and hence
this activity does not give him bliss, only keeps him away from mischief and indulgence. Over
activities of such persons can create an egoistical attitude. He may become violent in action or words
towards others who depend on him. He may become a very aggressive person of self-originated
temperament. Such people are horrible bosses, friends, companions, husbands or wives.

The same type of phenomenon is exhibited by people who run away from sex. The people who take to
celibacy, which is unnatural and artificially accepted by reason, deviate from the normal life of the
central path. Such people in the history of most of the religious institutions have been tyrants and
sadists of the worst type. They are sickening and boring people. The artificially forced movement of
attention away from sex creates dryness of love in such people. They do not enjoy anything and do not
allow others to enjoy. They are doing violence to themselves and those who are running away from sex
are doing violence to others. In both the cases the net result is that sex gives no real joy. Gradually,
both the types become impotent and sick.

The old theories of many psychologists who have written about inhibitions and freedom of sex are
based on partial understanding of human beings. They are just aware of the left side channel of the
sympathetic nervous system (Ida Nadi) known as psyche. If indulgence in sex was satisfying, then sex
activity and interest would subside and disappear from the mind of the subject. It happens with people
who are married and have good children. Such people are not impotent until they die, but mature and
do not think of sex at all. They are not aware that those who are straining their left or right sympathetic
systems ultimately break the connection with the central path of the parasympathetic (Sushumna).

There is no need to give sex education to children and create undue importance of sex. The animals
have no education and know what is sex. What is so great in sex to make such a fuss about it? At the
time of puberty the parents can explain to the children about sex, in a proper manner, in all privacy and
decency. But in pursuit of sex, who is bothered about children? Actually, sex is created only for getting
children and not for physical enjoyment.

The amount of talking that has been done in the western countries is responsible for spoiling the
8
innocence of children. We can see the result of their irresponsible, ignorant handling of innocence.
Another way of giving sublimated natural feelings of love to the child can be worked out till about five
years of age while his ego or superego is not fully developed. Till this age his fontanel bone
(Brahmarandra) is not fully calcified and he is very much in contact with the all-pervading, sublime,
divine Power of Love. At this age, if the child sleeps with the mother and other relations like sister,
mother's sister or father's sister or grandmother, he develops a sublimated sense of holy relationship,
which has nothing to do with sex. Vice-versa, it is true about a girl, also. The attention being one with
the Divine Love touches all the beautiful, pure, sublime areas of experience which build in him a
beautiful past.

Those who talk of sex relationship with mother or father must have had very ugly experiences in
childhood with their depraved parents. Actually, they are themselves suffering from sex perversions,
due to the influence of their perverted parents or the degraded society in which they live. They may be
rare exceptions. By giving such an importance to pathological exceptions, we are trying to make the
rule out of them. Unfortunately, all such misguided endeavours have led man in general into unnatural
ways and absolutely against the path of evolution. Therefore, with the sustenance (Dharma) confused
and disturbed, human beings behave worse than animals. Even animals indulge in sex with certain
restrictions, while human beings have lost all sense of propriety and sustenance (Dharma).

The argument is always put forward that if you inhibit your desires, a phenomenon of conditioning
(superego) takes place. But one must realize, as explained, that if you indulge into your desires too
much, your ego gets conditioned too. The unfortunate part is that the awareness of ego conditioning is
not evident. In such cases ego becomes colossal and the subject and psychologist are not aware of it till
the ego behaves like a despot or psychopath. The harm caused by ego conditioning is much greater than
superego conditioning, commonly known as subconscious suppression.

The middle path is the fulcrum, which rests on wisdom. Half knowledge of human sex is most
dangerous. Moreover, knowledge about abnormal people cannot guide the destiny of normal human
beings. One should not accept the presumptions of people who may claim to be scientists and
psychologists. They are also suffering from certain complexes of their own personalities, which they
sometimes try to justify by their theories, and sometimes they generalize their findings of abnormal
people. Psychology has advanced very much in modern times. The psychologists are understanding the
baseness of perversion of sex. But once society is derailed from the path of realty and sustenance
(Dharma), it is very difficult to put it on the proper track. The derailment has gone beyond the
comprehension of the psychologists who caused it. The science of psychology has advanced so much
ahead that there is talk of compassion and love and of psycho synthesis. They talk of a higher self but
their predecessors have already created slaves of sex who are going to be the race of rapists and
prostitutes.

Moreover, because the psychologists are mostly in contact with pathological people who are possessed
with spirits of depraved personalities from the collective subconscious, they catch the infection from
their patients who are themselves possessed by depraved, lusty spirits. Psychologists also get
influenced and suffer from such possessions because they do not know how to protect themselves,
through Sahaja Yoga techniques, from being possessed. No wonder sometimes they behave like evil
geniuses, to the greatest amazement of their patients. It is very necessary for every psychologist to get
Self-realized through Sahaja Yoga to understand the ways of protecting themselves and curing their
patients. They should also study human beings who are normal in their many-sided, subtle
personalities. They should study Sahaja Yogis who are the most beautiful creations of God Almighty
and have risen into the realm of Collective Unconscious.
9
The half knowledge of the psychologists has already ruined the western family-lives and societies. In
this society we are going to have a big group of rapists and sex maniacs, thanks to the novice
experimentation with the most beautiful, precious creations of human personality. I cannot understand
why people residing in such a cold climate have such mad habits. It is incredible why the western
women are all the time anxious to find some excuse to exhibit and expose their body in this freezing
cold.

In America I met a lady who brought a child to my meditation. The boy was hardly twelve years of age,
and had taken to drugs at such a small age and was turning out to be an addict. I felt very sorry for the
tender-aged, ruined child. When I saw him I was filled with great Love, and I took the boy in My arms
and kissed him and hugged him and loved him to My heart’s content. He was very much enamoured by
the expression of My Love. He said that his mother had never loved him like this; at least, he had no
such experience in his memory. To My wonder I discovered that this lady was having two dogs and
three cats sleeping in her room, while the poor child from early childhood slept in another room. When
I asked her, why do you do such a cruel thing to your child, she told me that according to a certain
psychological theory, which she followed, she felt that she would develop a guilt if she slept with her
son as she slept without any clothes. I was amazed at her intelligence and her wisdom. This kind of
absurd understanding about mother's love is even beyond the conception of God Almighty. There are
so many victims of such hypothetical, published ideas of psychologists.

Human society has reached devilish limits of prostitution. Human beings have taken to licentiousness
in the garb of experimentation. They think they are experimenting outside their beings and nothing will
happen to their inside tabernacle. If you are experimenting with acids in the laboratory outside yourself,
even then you are careful. Would you take the acid inside you to experiment? In Sahaja Yoga
experiments, the seekers who are slaves of sex show horrible signs of frozen Kundalini. Even if they
get realization, the Kundalini does not stay in the awakened stage, as if She has been beaten to death
and insulted with abuse.

Because of breaking with reality, man has become malignant. He feels independent and free to go to
hell. When there is no relationship of sanctity or holiness between man and woman, married life can
never be successful. Then why cry about broken homes where destitutes are created? As an answer to
this question, they are passing a law for abortion. It is another great achievement of the modern
advancement, which amounts actually to legalizing killing. One can easily regulate and control
population by Sahaja Yoga (as explained later).

Today's licentiousness, though credited to the early western psychologists, is really due to the
exploitation of the western business ideas of people, who want to make money by using the weaknesses
of society. The values of industrial society make human life cheap and vulgar.

In a normal human being, sex is natural and one has to have a natural, temperate life of quality. If it is
true that basically man was an animal, it is also true that he is born at a higher pedestal of awareness
and he has to evolve higher. In the natural course of evolution there is a built-in programme for him.
He is definitely created much more refined and cultured compared to his barbaric, subhuman
inheritance. The way we remind ourselves of our past animal life and call it natural is as if we feel
proud to boast of it. Whatever is natural is not necessarily always good. For example, if a person has a
weakness to be hot tempered, no one asserts that it is natural to be so and hence is good. If a person has
a weakness for sex and is flirting with every woman, it is accepted because it is a 'natural' thing, and
according to all norms of human behaviour it is not to be objected to. It may be that our past is natural,
10
but is it our goal to go back? Some rapists justify their crime by saying that women were provocative to
excite them. Some men are like monkeys that get provoked by any woman who has even an inch of her
body exposed. When are men going to mature and respect their chastity? Human destiny has a different
programme. We are born to achieve our goal and to enjoy the identity of our being through Self-
realization. Those who are worse than monkeys should not expect much from Sahaja Yoga, which is
for a forward march and not for a backward one. Without virtue, piety and surrendering to Shri
Ganesha, Self-realization cannot be achieved. It takes no effort to be innocent. Effort is needed to be
otherwise. Only in the case of possession does a person become sinful without putting any effort.

The time has come for us to realize our follies. Let us openly accept it so we can rectify ourselves. The
licentious behaviour of men and women crossed all bounds of wisdom. We have already managed to
kill human sustenance (Dharma) in so many ways and are using all our intelligence to devise many
more weapons to debase and degrade our dignity.

In modern times, a stripper is a goddess. We glorify nudity by calling her as nude beauty. We are really
clever and smart at justifying our destruction of woman's dignity. The modern times are paradoxical.
The main problem of advertising is how to show off the nudity of women without getting into the
clutches of human laws. The human laws fall short and are outwitted by the intelligence of
womanizers. They cannot create self-education or proper cultivation of human personality anymore
because no one has even fear for them. In the eastern world of aesthetics, nudity is never identified as
complete beauty. Especially Japanese, Chinese and Indians always believed that the integration of the
aesthetics created by man, and that of God or nature, created the real beauty.

The Chinese and Japanese created very beautiful kimonos to express the beauty of the artist. They were
the creations of beautiful human minds. They expressed the beauty of the human heart, which enhances
the beauty of the human body that is created by God, the Creator. They are like poetry describing the
various seasons and covering the motherhood in a woman as Mother Earth is decorated with various
seasons.

The Primordial Mother (Adi Shakti), when incarnated as an Indian lady, is covered with a sari to
complete Her gracious, beautiful, motherly personality. According to Indians, Adi Shakti releases the
qualities of propensity and roundedness through Her breast into the Earth, which She covers with a sari.
In Her worship, a sari is given to Her to cover Her stomach (Potzakne in Marathi language). Poets
describe how the Mother Earth covers Her body with beautiful nature to protect Her sense of chastity.
Thus She sanctifies Herself as a gracious mother of chaste shyness (Lajja).

In India there have been many instances of women who burnt themselves to save their chastity from the
evil rapists, during wars (Jouhar). In modern times and in the western countries, even today there are
laws of privilege for women for their protection from rapists to save their chastity. The word chastity is
not such a dead thing. This should prove that sex needs sanctity, and unless and until it is sanctified it is
not palatable or acceptable to the sensitivity of complete joy of human beings.

The theories put forward by some of the earlier psychologists at the dawn of this century were so
readily accepted that they reduced human personality to his sex point, as if man has come into this
world only to enjoy sex. Thereafter, psychology has advanced a great deal, but whatever harm was
done has derailed the society. No wonder many people who do not know much about the advancement
of psychologists hate them and think them to be demonic. The degradation and debasement of human
dignity has reached such a point that one feels hell is created on this beautiful Earth (Sansara). No
wonder if there are some poets and authors of plays who describe the love of Jesus Christ and His
11
Mother as illegal. This is outrageously false. It is high time that we put a complete stop to all this
violence to the beauty of human sustenance. This is infantile, foolish aggression by perverted people on
the virtuous and pious people.

Poor pious and virtuous people: they have no place in the advanced societies. They are regarded as very
inferior. In a drinking party, if you politely refuse to drink, it is regarded as bad manners. You have to
tell a lie, otherwise the drunkards are hurt, but if you flirt, it is not hurting. One has to be careful not to
say a word, which sounds like holiness or Divine. The state of such society is really pathetic: one sinner
pulling the other into the mire of corruption of lust. The pious man, in the early years of his age,
opposes, but then quietens into silence, as a sane person thinks it is wiser to accept everything in a
lunatic asylum. Such practices of degradation prosper and take their roots very easily. Most of the
people who support licentiousness want to justify their weaknesses. That is the only way they can live
with their follies. The intelligent justification creates a good compromise to exist peacefully with the
pricks and thorns of their spirituality.

Even in India there were some very perverted kings who created monuments of their perversion.
Unfortunately, they are described as pieces of art and the monuments as temples of God. Man has been
ingenious from ancient times to give a beautiful name to the ugliest thing. But at that time such people
were very few, and if any one of them became king he took special care to immortalize in monuments
his unfulfilled perversions. Of course, very great artists have created these ancient, beautiful buildings.
The aesthetics of the artistic statues, the figures and the complete design is grand. The movement, the
mood and the living harmony is aesthetically very rich, but there is no need to use the sex act or nudity
for art or its different forms as the basic theme of expression. Actually, the expression of sex action
spoils the serenity and delicacy of their creation. Vulgarity or public exhibition of sex spoils the
balance of beauty of art. Actually, the art that takes resource to vulgarity is lacking in its own
confidence. Whenever the need is felt for any artist to express his art through vulgarity, it is a sure and
certain result of weakness in the aesthetics of that expression. But today, universally, such an art is
regarded as the highest in expression and in market value. If any photograph or piece of art does not
have a nude woman or sickening scenes suggesting erotic excitement, the great critics and connoisseurs
of art think it is lacking in aesthetics.

God alone knows what is the criterion of aesthetics of such sex-starved people. The universal
Unconscious can judge it through vibrations. With Sahaja Yoga, the aesthetic value will change in the
future, because the vibrations that are emitted from such universally acclaimed works of art are very
heated, and sometimes a Sahaja Yogi may get blisters. That is the judgment of the Unconscious to
make us understand.

If enjoyment means the complete oneness with bliss, then one has to discard the sex act as an
unaesthetic practice. The aesthetics of sex are expressive only when enacted in privacy with very deep
emotional and social ties with one person, enjoying all facets of love whether in separation or in
meeting. The love theme plays its music all the time. If one has given the heart to another person, one
cannot take it back. But how many have hearts to give?

The sex act itself has to be done in the sacred way, that is with your own wife, who is a publicly
accepted personality, and who is blessed by the elders and society. Sex is magical. It is the most private
secret. Apart from enjoyment being complete, the children of such parents are heavenly. These ideas
may seem very much outdated today to the so-called advanced minds and the extra-modernized people,
but tomorrow, when truths of reality will be accepted through Sahaja Yoga, they will realize that it is
the most ultra-modern revelation of the Unconscious. The Unconscious has been revealing to us and
12
that is how we learnt to have marriage institutions. The Sahaja Yogis already know those who break the
laws of Divine Love and universal unity, through their vibrations. Shri Ganesha fixes them. Those who
indulge in all such practices suffer physically and mentally before realization, and if they get also
realization, a transition period is set in such subjects. Of course, with the proper practice of Sahaja
Yoga one can awaken Shri Ganesha.

The sex act without marriage gives incomplete pleasure. One may ask, why should we marry at all. The
marriage institution is a most ancient one. It was discovered by sages a long time ago by deep
contemplation. The married couple means a one-man-one-woman relationship for life, which is
accepted by society. It expresses a collective sanction and a social support for married-life. Marriage
itself is the collective acceptance and rejoicing. The rejoicing in the wedding makes the private sex-life
sublime and gracious.

In conclusion, one may say that for a seeker of Sahaja Yoga it is necessary to become like a child to
enter the Kingdom of Heaven (Sahasrara).

He must lead a life of temperance, piety and virtue. He must respect his parents and his society in
which he is born. He must have the sublime filial relations with all the other women but his wife. He
must lead a life of abstinence before marriage.

If a lady, who is a householder and is also a mother of children, takes to prostitution, what will happen
to the children? Those who do not identify themselves with their children, who are the future species,
are abnormal parents as far as their human sustenance is concerned. Even animals place their children
above everything else, while human children need much more care and love and dignity. It has been
seen in Sahaja Yoga experiments, that people who get realization through Sahaja Yoga and who ascend
to very great heights are people who had spent their childhoods in good loving families and have
received very great love from their virtuous mothers and fathers and other relations. Apart from this,
they are mostly people who have very sane ideas about the honour of their chastity.

The fantastic magic of marriage is triggered when the wedding takes place in a sacred place like a
court, church, temple or private house or any such public or private place, which is accepted by the
members of society. The abstract divine force of Unconscious instructs in such weddings. The consent
of the society and of parents adds to the favour of the occasion. Even if the wedding takes place
without the consent of parents, the couple cannot feel fully happy because they are part-and-parcel of
that society and also of their parents. It is a biological fact and cannot be ignored by the inner being.

There have been many atrocities caused by severe laws of marriage imposed by narrow-minded,
dwarfish persons. They must be rectified but why should they be discarded? Only people who are
realized should frame the ritual of the ceremonies by which the blessings of the Unconscious are
assured.

Love, which is the binding force between the couple, is not to be confused with infatuation, which is
temporary. For an unrealized soul it is not easy to feel the vibrations of the other person. He cannot
judge the compatibility of his mate by knowing her superficially. Even experiments of courting and
dating cannot give him any idea about his future mate, as both of them are acting under guard or under
artificial circumstances. The so-called love is so superficial that it may change with the changing of
their hair-wigs. This kind of superficial choice that depends on the various artificial products of the
industrial factories can only kill love, which is spontaneous.

13
Judgment relying on the artificial values of behaviour of modern times cannot depict the deep
significance of the couple's future relationship. On this shaky ground one cannot erect the beautiful
abode of love. It can only create a dream, which seldom comes true. Moreover, if such a couple does
not have the blessings of the parents and the society it will never receive the abstract blessings of the
Divine Love, the Unconscious.

Marriage is a link in the universal oneness. It is a unique relationship, which enjoys privacy. If one
realizes the trick of marriage, it is not difficult to exploit all the beautiful boons of this wonderful
benediction.

For a Sahaja Yogi it is advisable that one must marry a Sahaja Yogi. At this juncture of Kaliyuga, when
there are many great souls who are waiting to be reborn, the Sahaja Yogi couple can provide the
necessary spiritual parenthood of these very highly evolved souls.

Why is it that in the countries where people have marriage by their own choice, the divorces are very
frequent? The reason is that the choice rests on material, outward exposed personality factors but not
on the hidden inner being. Because parents love their children, when they are also consulted, the deities
in their chakras help in the decision. It is not a calculated decision but a divine decision, because our
parents also were the gift of the same. Those who do not marry and yet have children are giving birth to
very depraved souls. Those who are married and divorce again and again become bi-personalities and
go out of evolution. How can they give birth to great souls? Today's children are going to be the
parents of tomorrow. If your parents have not been very good guides in your life, you should try to be
better parents. But in modern, western societies parents have no interest in their children and they leave
them alone, on their own to fight the hazards of life. This is the way parents shirk their responsibility,
but the reason is much more and is historical in nature. In the last World War, the parents of today were
young. All their values were shattered and their personality was battered. They did not feel the Love.
Therefore, their attitude towards their children was very rigid and dry.

There was a young boy who used to take L.S.D. When I discovered it I told him that I would not eat
any food until he promised not to take it any more. I had to fast hardly for a day and the young man
yielded to My Love. He later on turned out to be a very active Sahaja Yogi.

The crux of the problem is that everyone is not entitled for the sacred institution of marriage. Those
who enjoy sex with many, without marriage or within marriage, can go ahead, but if Sahaja Yoga fails
in them, they cannot blame it. Even if they are awakened they cannot go further in achievement of Self-
realization. They have to take a decision once and for all. Only then can they evolve. Only such people
should have children. Others do not have the right to do so as you do not want to have a breed of
criminals or animals in the bodies of human beings. Those who do not respect their parents will not be
respected by their children. There is only one thing that is important in this Creation: that is the Union
with God in the human being. For that you need freedom from your own bondage and from nobody
else. The people who do not respect their parents and elders are always found, in the practice of Sahaja
Yoga, having a very weak Mooladhara chakra and very weak right side heart centre (Ridhaya Chakra)
where Shri Rama resides with His power, His wife Seeta. Particularly if you are unkind to your mother,
then the central and left part of heart centre gets very weak. Therefore, one must understand how
important our parents are in our inner-personality. Our parents have their roots in the Primordial
Parents, and marriage has its roots in Their primordial, eternal, loving relationship. Those who are not
respecting their marriage and enjoying the glory of chastity, also have a very weak heart and
Mooladhara centre. The Kundalini does not rise in shameless, sexy people. Today, with the absurd
ideas of freedom, marriages are broken; home-life is lost. Home is the sacred temple where the most
14
beautiful creation of God as children grows. They are delicate flowers who are treated so cruelly by the
pernicious trends of the society. Good homes are the foundation of the good society. If the society does
not provide the necessary nest for the offspring of Divine, demonic personalities are born in large
numbers, while righteous and religious ones hesitate to be born.

We are so much worried about the breeding of cattle and livestock, but we are not concerned about the
breeding of human beings. The values of human life are degenerating. The so-called human beings that
are born are stupid, foolish or cruel. The sensitive mind of a child needs the loving care of his parents
and grandparents. It requires a society, which enjoys peace and tranquility. More animals are taking
birth on the Earth as human beings because of the Kaliyuga in which genetic and mental pollution is
maximum. There are many great souls who want to take birth, but it can be only possible if we have
proper parents and atmosphere for them to incarnate. Even ordinary human beings are afraid to take
birth because there are money-minded and selfish parents. It is horrid to hear that some modern
mothers kill their children to save their money for their drinks.

With the advent of so many evil spirits, the Kaliyuga is hovering with evil forces. Hence the depraved
spirits or insensitive animal beings are taking birth. The atmosphere on this Earth will have to be
congenial to the sensitive human spirits. Automatically, the birth rate will go down because human
souls, who are limited, will take birth for their evolution while animal souls will not take human
incarnations. The degradation of human awareness expanded the human atmosphere to a brutal state.
Thus many animals started taking birth on this Earth as human beings. The way the societies are
already ruined, one cannot think of reversing the trend. Fortunately, with the advent of Sahaja Yoga
new priorities will ensue in human beings and they will evaluate their existence with a new angle and
with a new attitude. There are many realized souls who have taken birth on this Earth during the last
eleven years. I have seen at least three hundred children. This speaks for some hope in these hopeless
times.

It is beyond the scope of this book to give all the details of how the marriage system gets sanctified
through Sahaja Yoga.

When a seeker goes deep into misguided, perverse experiments, Shri Ganesha becomes tired. As soon
as Shri Ganesha becomes indifferent or sleeps in the Mooladhara Chakra, the satanic forces from hell
send forth their emissaries who enter into the collective subconscious. They overtake the position in the
human mind. Such a possessed soul has no sense of right and feels he is pure and innocent while
committing all kinds of sins of sex. Thus abnormal sex behaviour is exhibited, and rapists are created.
The perverse sex maniacs fight for their rights and inhuman laws are passed by the state to please the
animal voters.

In this Kaliyuga, some gurus who want to control weak souls also excite the Mooladhara Chakra and
capture the minds of sadhakas. This is the surest way of introducing a spirit into the Mooladhara
Chakra. Shri Ganesha fights with such intrusion, but if the subject does not heed He sleeps off.

The awakening of Kundalini from the triangular bone passes through the other six chakras, but not
through the Mooladhara Chakra. The Mooladhara Chakra is placed much lower than the triangular
bone, the Mooladhara, the abode of the Kundalini from where it rises. One can only reach Shri Ganesha
through the abode of Adi Shakti. So far no one, not even Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, have been able to
identify with Him. Though Shri Ganesha identifies in parts with all other deities, no one has been able
to achieve His innocence and complete dedication to His Mother. One can see Him (Salokya Samadhi),
one can feel the nearness (Samipya Samadhi), but identification is very difficult.
15
The central channel is like the passage of a house, which has got seven doors. These doors are guarded
by different deities from the inside; entry into this passage is not possible from outside probing. The
only possible way is through the awakening of the Kundalini (Mother) who rises and crosses this
passage from the central core. She informs all the deities when one of the centres is weak. The deities
are not awakened; hence Her ascent is blocked by them. When they are awakened, they give Her way
and bless Her with their Love. This happening attracts the attention (Chitta) of the subject inwards.
When Kundalini pierces the top of the head (Brahmarandra) the human attention becomes one with the
all-pervading Divine Power which is infinite in nature. All the other chakras are pierced after the deity
has cleared the centre, hence the sadhaka does not see any deities in his ascent. In this happening,
Mooladhara plays the greatest role, because all the chakras have their rudiments of holiness ensuing
from the different petals of the Mooladhara Chakra.

After complete realization through Sahaja Yoga, the sadhakas can bring down their attention from the
top, and can be acquainted with the deities that are protecting the chakras. But to pierce through Shri
Ganesha is beyond the reach of even very great sages. It is only possible for those who, after reaching a
very great height of awareness, identify completely with Innocence like Jesus Christ, who is Shri
Ganesha personified.

In Sahaja Yoga it has been seen that Shri Ganesha reacts only when the protocols of His Mother, Adi
Shakti, are observed. With Sahaja Yoga practice, gradually the seeker becomes purer and by
understanding Ganesha can steady him. Such a personality becomes just a witness of the play of sex.
He is not attached or involved in the sex act.

Moreover, by the grace of Shri Ganesha, a seeker enjoys all the varieties and beautiful aspects of his
affections manifesting his personality like a giant tree, which has various parts. He should have his
mother who is the root of his tree, which gives him his very existence and complete assistance to guide
and strengthen the growth of his personality. His wife should support like a trunk of the tree. She
carries and shares the load of responsibility on her shoulders. He should enjoy sisters’ affection like the
branches of the tree who are proud of his achievements and are always praying for protection of their
beloved brother. He should have a sweet little daughter, or daughters like flowers to whom he can
reveal his fatherly love. The completion of his expression of emotion comes when this love is
expressed towards his granddaughter. They are the fruits of the tree. He reveals his own innocent love
in this grand companionship with his granddaughter. He really feels grand.

Once, Alexander the Great came to India and was married to an Indian lady. He later attacked many
Indian kings. Once, he was captured by a king known as Puru. Alexander's wife was an intelligent
Indian lady. She sent a present to Puru. The present was placed in a plate covered with a beautiful
cloth. It was an ordinary thread of bondage of sisterly love (Rakhi). When the king removed the cover,
he realized that she had sent her love to him like a sister, which is a very sacred relationship. Thus
accepting the love of a sister, King Puru had to treat her like her brother. Moreover, the king could not
keep his brother-in-law, the coveted relative (Nanya), in the captivity. In return, Alexander the Great
left India without further ideas of destruction and overpowering people who were so respectful of
delicate, sublime relationships. There are many beautiful stories that express sweetness of the pure
relationship of love.

Every chakra is a part of the expression of the Total Awareness; the Total Identity. The expression of
the atmosphere that is created through Mooladhara Chakra is of illusion (Maya). Shri Ganesha Himself
produces the illusion in the brain through the ego and superego. As if the Divine Power (Water of Life)
16
poured into the soil, hides itself in the mud. He creates Maya to test the disciples of Adi Shakti, to
verify the genuiness of their seeking; to find out the hypocrites and evil-minded seekers.

Shri Ganesha is created of the (Mother) earth element and can get dissolved into it very easily.
Immersion of Shri Ganesha in the sea dissolves His body made of clay and the Vibrations of His being
vibrate the water, who is the grandfather of Shri Ganesha. Later, the Earth, who is the Mother's mother
(Grand Mother), is also vibrated when the clay of His body settles in the bottom of the sea.

He transforms the earth element into earthy things to give variety. He creates illusion. He permeates
into the all-pervading unconscious through the fragrance of flowers and all the other fragrances. Thus
the vibrations of holiness and innocence are emitted through Him. Fragrance is the causal essence of
the Earth; hence fragrances of all kinds are very dear to Shri Ganesha. The realized soul has always a
fragrant body. The body of an Incarnation emits clouds of fragrance of many types of flowers. They
give wisdom to human beings. All that is cunning and crafty is ultimately understood through His
wisdom as very silly and foolish, and human beings ascend in their wisdom and purity.

Shri Ganesha looks after the protocol of His Divine Mother. He is very forgiving but cannot at all
tolerate anything against His Mother. He enters into the human intellect and imbibes the qualities of
reverence. He gives the Light of Wisdom to the egoistical intellectuals when they bow to His
innocence. He enters into the superego when He is prayed to by the people who are conditioned and are
suppressed. He kills the demons or evil forces that are overpowering the seekers. He has an army of
angels and evolved sages. He is respected and worshipped by all the gods, and His own Mother, Adi
Shakti, worships Him, as He is the highest.

Shri Ganesha surrounds the left half circle of the Void and His brother, Kartikeya, surrounds the right
half of the circle. They reunite below the heart chakra. From here the monkey god, Hanumana, is
created who represents the preconscious mind of the Virata and is on the right side channel of Pingala
that manifests as the right sympathetic nervous system. This deity takes the form of Saint Gabriel after
the Vishuddhi Chakra stage (after Shri Krishna's incarnation).

After the Nabhi Chakra on the left hand side, arises the deity of Bhairava who is the guide angel of the
subconscious mind. He incarnates after the Vishuddhi Chakra stage (after Shri Krishna) as Saint
Michael. These are the aspects of Jesus Christ: Kartikeya becomes the body of Jesus Christ whose
essence is Shri Ganesha; St. Gabriel and St. Michael become angelic, the mobile aspects of His
attention. There are many more angels who move in the glance of Shri Ganesha.

Shri Ganesha is the greatest among all the deities created by Adi Shakti. His Mother, though She is the
Primordial Mother, marvels at Her Son and gives Him reverence. No amount of words can describe the
all-encompassing nature of Shri Ganesha. The body proportions of Shri Ganesha create a coefficient by
which the Vibrations are emitted. The coefficient of the Divine Power (Pranava) is also the same.
Hence, He is the actualization of Pranava, the Divine Love. Thus He is the total power of Adi Shakti.
When He is manifested (Vyakta) as Jesus Christ, He symbolizes the Light of the total awareness. But
Shri Ganesha is the Seed of awareness.

If a stone is vibrated through touch by a very highly realized personality, or the clay that has been
touched by the Feet of any Incarnation, or any bark of a tree which is being graced by any one of the
deities or any great master, it can be transformed into proper proportions of this coefficient of Pranava,
and can emit Vibrations. But if such stones have the form of Shri Ganesha, then Pranava is completely
identified in those stones. In India there are twelve such awakened deities of Shri Ganesha in various
17
places. They were located by some ancient sages. The Vibrations that are emitted from these images of
Shri Ganesha cannot be felt or captured by ordinary human beings. Hence, people do not understand
the value of these images. Some ignorant people ask for material prosperity from these images, and
sometimes they are rewarded. Real seekers ask for the supreme wisdom and innocence. The
achievement of Self-realization, for which we are born, is achieved best if we are innocent like Shri
Ganesha. But we take very great pride in our intelligence; so much so that many are confident that they
can even cheat God.

A proper proportioned betel nut can also be quite close to an image of Shri Ganesha as the coefficient
works out. There are many other factors, such as who planted the betel nut tree, or who sold it to the
seeker. Even a coconut can work out quite close to this coefficient by which the Vibrations are
liberated. But the human factor, which handles such coconuts, can spoil the vibrations if the subject is
not pure in heart, because Vibrations know everything.

Shri Ganesha is the eldest brother of all the Sahaja Yogis. In the university of Sahaja Yoga, one has to
be registered through the permission of Shri Ganesha, who is responsible for judging every student
(sadhaka) who wants to enroll in the university. After passing through four classes of four chakras,
Nabhi Chakra, Swadhisthan Chakra, Ridhaya Chakra and Vishuddhi Chakra, Shri Ganesha bestows a
graduation degree upon the pupil, as chancellor of the university where He is in human form as Jesus
Christ. This is the awakened stage of the sadhaka.

After crossing the fifth centre of Agnya Chakra the attention of the pupil enters the limbic area known
as Sahasrara. When this area is pierced through the top of the head (Brahmarandra), the post graduation
degree is also bestowed upon the student by Shri Ganesha. This is Self-realization. After the entrance
into the unconscious mind, the higher degrees also have to be certified by Shri Ganesha. Though the
Adi Shakti, the Primordial Mother Herself, grants the post graduation, Shri Ganesha has to bless the
pupil. On top of the human personality is the seat of Shri Sadashiva. On His lap sits the great, adorable
Child, Shri Ganesha, as He is always surrendered at the most coveted place of His Parents’ Feet. Above
the seat of Sadashiva, on the head of Shiva, He forms the crescent moon as Ardha Bindu, and from its
cup the Pranava falls down on all sides. At the stage of Bindu (point) He becomes absolutely subtle so
that He enters inside the point, which has no length or breadth as the total density of the concentrated
Awareness itself. Lastly, He is the circular line that limits the Adi Shakti's power as Valaya or complete
state (Poorna Stithi).

Adi Shakti is the Power of God Almighty (Parameshwara), but Her Power is Shri Ganesha. He resides
as Unconscious, and after Self-realization as awareness (Pranava), in every particle of Her Creation,
which is expressed in His four dimensions. His symbol is the swastika, which rotates in the clockwise
manner while creating, and while destroying, moves anticlockwise. While evolving it is equal and
opposite in force, giving steadiness. The four arms of the swastika are like His four arms, which are
carrying the symbolic weapons and accessories at their ends. In the life of Jesus Christ, the swastika is
symbolized as a cross. Actually, the cross is the swastika, which is manifested (Vyakta). The crossing
point is higher, because Christ came at a point when Creation was at a higher point of evolution and the
human beings were born with greater awareness.

Shri Ganesha has four hands. The accessories and the weapons of Shri Ganesha are withdrawn into the
body of Jesus Christ; hence the cross is so bare. The upper right one carries the weapon of Parashu.
Ganesha's weapon (Ayudha) becomes forgiveness (Kshama) in Jesus Christ. It is the greatest of
weapons for human beings. How the weapon of forgiveness is used in Sahaja Yoga will be discussed
later.

The lower left hand carries the accessory of a bowl of the Goddess of Food (Annapoorna). The bowl,
containing balls of sweets (Modaka), becomes one with the body of Christ. It is shown in the life of
Christ that He had conquered hunger and He could satisfy the hunger of others. He fasted for forty days
and Satan could not overpower Him. Moreover, in a wedding He satisfied the hunger of thousands by
creating the miracle of fishes and bread.

In the right side lower hand of Ganesha, the Kundalini is placed as a small snake. This means He
controls the Kundalini of the universe. The Kundalini of many people was awakened by the advent of
Christ, and all of them are going to be realized in Kaliyuga through Sahaja Yoga. With His love and
benediction He controls His Mother, too. He soothes Her by His service (Seva) and by creating
motherly fulfillment (Vatsalya). He gives Her immense satisfaction.

All the Sahaja Yogis must know how to worship Shri Ganesha so that He is kept awakened, and the
seeker remains in the eternal bliss of His innocence.
