Circuit Operation
The ElectronicTime andAlarm Control Module (ETACM) receivessignalsfrom variousvehiclecomponentsand con-
trols the Theft DeterrentSystem,as well asthe powerdoor lock function. Inputs to the ETACM include:door lock cylin-
der contactswitches, hood switch, rear hatchcylinder switch, door switchesand key in ignition switch.
When the system is activated, it monitors all passengerdoors, hood and rear hatch for unauthorized entry.
The Theft Deterrent System can be activated whenever all doors and rear hatch are CLOSED and either driver's or pas-
senger'slock cylinder contactswitch is tumed to the LOCK position using ignition key. The hom will make one quick
chirp, indicatingthe the systemis activated.Locking doors with the door lock knob will not activatethe system.
Once the Theft Deterrentsystemdetectsan unauthorizedentry the hom will soundon andoffand the exterior lights will
flash on and off for approximatelythreeminutes.
The systemis resetor deactivatedby insertingthe ignition key into either front door lock cylinder or into the rear hatch
cylinder switch and tuming to the UNLOCK position.
