COMBUSTIBLE GAS MONITOR

PREPARATION

1. Prepare a detailed job sheet.


2. Check for any physical damages on the instrument.
3. Clean the instrument thoroughly before calibration.
4. Keep the UUT in the calibration lab for at least 30 minutes for stabilization.
5. Ensure that the temperature and humidity are within the acceptable limits.
6. Turn Instrument ON and allow a warm up time of 2 minutes or as per manufacturer’s catalogue
(whichever is higher).

PRELIMINARY INSPECTION
8. Check the instrument Display, Pump (if available), and Sensor for proper working. If there is any
problem see if it can be cleared and note down it in the job sheet.

CALIBRATION
9. The combustible gas Monitor is adjusted to read zero with inlet fresh air.
10. The applicable standard Calibration gas as given below is applied to the inlet of the instrument.

11. After 1 minute, the read out must be adjusted to the corresponding value using Span Control.
12. If Span is not adjustable check sensor or Control PCB and note that accordingly in the job
sheet.
13. Set high alarms as required (as per instruction manual).
14. Repeat the step 8 to 10 three to four times and ensure that the calibration is successful.
15. Repeat step 8 and reconfirm the calibration on purging with fresh air.

RECORDS
16. Note down the ‘As found’ and ‘As left’ readings carefully in the job sheet.
17. Provide ‘Calibration’ sticker with necessary details if the error is within limits.
18. Note down the Test method variation, if any, in the job sheet.
