GASPER FAN - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. General
A. The gasper fan is utilized in augmenting individual crew member
cooling or ventilation. The fan is accessible through access
door No. 1314 located at the rear of the lower forward cargo
compartment. For airplanes with forward auxiliary fuel tank,
access may be gained by removing 2 ea. roller rails and 1
ea. main cargo floor panel marked “FIRE BOTTLE ACCESS”. Panel
is located on the right hand side of the aircraft between
stations 720c to 720d.
2. Remove Gasper Fan (Fig. 401)
A. Gain access to fan by opening access door or floor panels as
required..
B. Open GASPER FAN circuit breaker on panel P6.
C. Remove electrical connector and bonding jumper from fan.
D. Remove the two clamps securing the fan to the inlet and outlet
ducts.
E. Remove fan.
3. Install Gasper Fan
A. Position fan in line with ducts with the electrical connector
receptacle up and loosely install clamps.
B. Tighten duct clamps.
C. Check that bonding surfaces are clean, then install bonding
jumper.
D. Install electrical connector on top of fan.
E. Close GASPER FAN circuit breaker.
F. Check that A/C PACK switches are at CLOSE.
G. Provide electrical power.
