What Things Do YOU notice?
• you need a center of dilation (where to start) and a scale factor
(how much bigger or smaller)
• line segments and shapes are proportional between the preimage
and image
• angles stay the same
• lines not touching the center of dilation are parallel between the pre
image and image
• lines touching the center of dilation remain the same line, just
extended
• the two figures are similar same shape but not same size
