Herdiana, Safira Putri. 2018. The Differences of using Povidone Iodine 10% ointment
and Turmeric (Curcuma domestica) Extract Ointment on the Number of
Fibroblast on Incised Wound Healing Process in White Male Rats (Rattus
norvegicus strain wistar). Thesis, Faculty of Medicine University of

Objective: To compare the effectivity of turmeric extract ointment with povidone iodine
10% ointment on the number of fibroblast in healing process of incised wound in white
male wistar rats (Rattus norvergicus strain wistar).
Methods: True experimental and post-test only group design were used. The sample were
divided into three groups. They were positive control (transparent dressing), group 2
(povidone iodine 10% ointment), group 3 (turmeric extract ointment). The animals test
were given incision in the back of the vertebrae, with incision size of ± 2 cm. Skin tissue
sampling was performed after 14 day. To see the number of fibroblast done making
preparations with Hematoxylin eosin staining.
Research Result and Discussion: Normality test showed that the distribution of data were
normal with p>0.05. Homogenity test showed sig=0,065 which mean variant of fibroblast
data of animal experiment are homogenous. One Way Anova test result showed sig
p=0,000 which mean significant of fibroblast content between control group and treatment
group.
Key Terms: Fibroblast, turmeric extract ointment, povidone iodine 10% ointment.
