A Eng. Agr. Msc. Fabiane Lamego, estudante do Programa de Pós-Graduação
em Fitotecnia da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul – UFRGS – está
realizando parte de seus estudos na Universidade de Arkansas. Os alunos do curso de
pós-graduação em Herbologia desta Universidade foram vencedores do “Concurso de
Estudantes de Herbologia” promovida pela Regional Sul da Sociedade Americana da
Ciência da Plantas Daninhas (SWSS).

práticas de manejo. Para isso, avaliaram-se a emergência das plântulas, características
morfológicas e habilidade competitiva das três espécies, potencial competitivo de A.
denticulata e redução da produtividade de grãos em arroz e efeitos de cultivares de
arroz e de épocas da adubação nitrogenada e da irrigação na resposta da cultura. Os
resultados mostram que as três espécies de angiquinho ocorrem nos Estados do RS e
de SC, mas com distribuição variável. As três espécies emergem sob lâmina d’água
quando as sementes se localizam na superfície do solo. A. indica e A. sensitiva reúnem
características que mostram maior capacidade competitiva do que A. denticulata. A
aplicação do adubo nitrogenado na semeadura do arroz aumenta a habilidade
competitiva da cultivar precoce (Irga 418), enquanto a cultivar de ciclo médio (Irga 409)
responde melhor à competição quando o adubo é fracionado. A antecipação da
irrigação mostra-se vantajosa à competitividade da cultura. A perda média de
produtividade do arroz por competição de A. denticulata é de 1,4 % para cada planta da
infestante m-2, considerando-se população de até 35 plantas m-2, mas este índice varia
com as práticas de manejo. A utilização dos marcadores moleculares ISSRs indica
baixa variabilidade genética, tanto intrapopulacional quanto intra-específica, para as três
espécies de Aeschynomene investigadas.

germinação. Sobre o crescimento e desenvolvimento, constatou-se que A. deflexus foi
a espécie com ciclo vegetativo mais curto, menor acúmulo de massa seca e área foliar;
por outro lado, A. retroflexus e A. hybridus foram aquelas que alcançaram os maiores
valores para estas variáveis. A estimativa de área foliar demonstrou que a equação
linear passando pela origem (Ar=a.(C.L)) foi adequada para ajustar a relação entre as
medidas lineares do limbo e a área foliar real de todas as espécies. Com relação à
competição, concluiu-se que a cultura do feijoeiro é melhor competidora que todas as
espécies de plantas daninhas do gênero Amaranthus que foram utilizadas neste
trabalho, quando cultivadas em igualdade de proporções. A. deflexus e A. viridis foram
as espécies com a fenologia menos afetada pela competição com o feijoeiro; a
competição intraespecífica foi a mais prejudicial à cultura do feijoeiro, o que sugere que
os danos causados pelas plantas daninhas estão mais relacionados com as altas
densidades em que estas ocorrem do que com a habilidade competitiva intrínseca das
espécies. O controle químico obtido para as espécies de Amaranthus avaliadas neste
trabalho demonstrou diferenças de susceptibilidade aos herbicidas aplicados em pós-
emergência, principalmente ao trifloxysulfuron-sodium e ao chlorimuron-ethyl, em que
A. deflexus foi a espécie menos suscetível, seguido por A. spinosus, A. viridis, A.
hybridus e A. retroflexus.

RESUMO
Foi realizado um ensaio visando a avaliar o efeito residual da mistura pronta fluazifop-p-
butil + fomesafen (160+200g ha-1), presente nos solos ARGISSOLO AMARELO (PA) e
LATOSSOLO AMARELO (LA), no crescimento de abóbora, pepino, milho e maracujá,

utilizados como plantasteste. Verificou-se que não houve diferença com relação à
matéria seca da parte aérea das plantas-teste dentro do mesmo solo, o mesmo se
constatando para matéria seca das raízes, com exceção das plantas de maracujá em
LA. Independentemente dos solos analisados, o resíduo do herbicida presente no
substrato resultou em redução de plantas daninhas de folhas largas germinadas, sem
contudo reduzir o número total de plantas daninhas.
