Product Intro:
Reddiseals offer a Harmony range of acoustic seals that are ideal for new build or retrofit applications. The
Teardrop Seal demonstrates good deflection recovery, very good performance, good tear strength and
has good acoustic properties. Fitted directly onto the timber frame into the rebate, it provides excellent
draft and weatherproofing, eliminating the need for routing. Ideal for timber casement windows, it can be
used on the top or bottom of sashes if required and in timber doorsets. It is UV stable, and easy to clean
and maintain. This product is supplied in 8 x 2.1m lengths. It is available in white or brown.

• Base is manufactured from Rigid PVC and the bubble are manufactured from PVC Nitrile (which is a
highly dynamic flexible form of PVC)
• Supplied in 8 x 2.1m lengths.
• Seals gaps: 3.0 – 5.0mm.
• Universal application (check there is enough room either side of the rebate)
• High performance self-adhesive tape.
• PVC base adds rigidity to the insertion and retention of the seal.
• Resistant to most paints and stains.
• Demonstrates good tear strength, which is important in a flipper application.
• High deflection recovery.
• Lower opening and closing forces on the window than a bubble seal.
• UV stable.
• Acoustic tested in accordance with BS EN ISO 10140-2:2010. In a 54mm deep timber door set with a
specialist acoustic core, the bubble seal achieved an acoustic rating of 43dB Rw.
• Complies with the requirements of Approved document E, guidelines on acoustic resistance to the
passage of sound in timber door sets.
• 100,000 cycle tested with no loss in air leakage performance.

Product data:
• Fits directly onto the surface of the timber beading, just peal off the backing strip and apply to the
timber.
• Can be used to seal the top and bottom of a sash window.
• May also be used in door applications.

Life Cycle – 10 years, provided the seal is installed in accordance with the requirements given in the
data sheet.

Installation Instructions:
1. Mark the timber frame, next to the beading for placement of the seal. Cut the seal to the required
length using Reddiseals cutters.
2. Make sure the surface is clean and dry and free from any surface oils, dirt or sawdust etc. Failure to
do so may result in delamination or poor adhesion of the seal to the substrate.
3. Remove the release liner from the seal and press firmly onto the timber.
4. To achieve excellent adhesion, seals must be applied to clean, dry surfaces at temperatures between -
-5°C and +40°C.
Quality Approval:
Reddiseals operates a Quality Management System that meets the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and is
independently verified by BSI Quality Assurance under certificate No. FM10371. Copies of this approval
are available on request.
Product Guarantee:
Reddiseals gives a guarantee on the Seal, which covers product failure due to manufacturing defects for a
period of 10 years from date of purchase, but excludes misuse, negligence or accidental damage to
systems. The guarantee will not apply to any products deemed by us to have been modified or repaired
by someone other than ourselves.
