Engineering Environment:

Virtual Test:

Simulation of a program or code but without hardware or hardware is not connected.

Target Test:

 Kind of Simulation but actual hardware is connected.


 It is used for FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test).
 Controller is must but I/O’s modules i-e field equipment is not mandatory.

Engineering:

 Concurrent Engineering i-e Parallel Engineering at same application. Different tasks assigned to
different persons of a same project.
 For Concurrent Engineering YOKOGAWA needs Windows NT or Windows 2000.

Virtual Test Environment:

To conduct Virtual Test Right Click on FCS than FCS→Test Function→Ok

For Current Mode same procedure but the Test will be Target Test

Now you will hear Buzzer Alarm and new bar is also open. This bar is for operator, this red bar shows
Virtual Test.
By clicking on this button, Buzzer Alarm Sound is off, and reset.

By clicking on this button, System Alarm Message will open. From 5 to 16 if indications are
green its shows database loaded successfully and red indication shows critical situation.

Project Common Items:

If any changes are done here than in all stations same changes will appear.

Alarm Priority:

Alarms priority are set from here.

CRT: Whether Status should display on window or not.

PT: Whether Alarm occurrence data should be printed or not.

Historical File: Alarm occurrence data should be recorded or not.

Alarm Action:

Lock Type: Until Acknowledge is pressed alarm will keep on blinking even after alarm is normalized.

Non-Lock Type: Without any acknowledgement blinking stops when alarms return to normal.

Self-Acknowledge: System performs acknowledgment automatically after occurrence, means no


flashing.

Rewarning: It shows the repetition of alarms, it is only for High Priority Alarms.
NR: When alarm is normalized, flashing is start to tell operator about status change. It is also for High
Priority Alarms.

Dependent type: Alarm will continue to flash if it was flashing and alarm will not flash if it was not
flashing, when alarm return to normal.

Notification at return type: When all alarms return to normal, the new alarm will start flashing even if
new alarm is un-acknowledged. It notifies the operator that function block has return to normal.

Alarm Status Character String:

From this window we can change name of alarms.
