• lmxendutil
• lmx-serv
In addition to these files the installation will generate a default license configuration file called hbmuk-serv.cfg in the
<HBM Prenscia install>/Licensing/config directory. This configuration file is an ASCII text file, which can be opened and
modified using any text editor. The configuration file can be used to set the TCP listen port, path to the license file and
path to the log file.
Decide where you wish to place the LM-X license file and copy it to that location.
(This will usually be in the <HBM Prenscia install>/Licensing/license directory of your installation.)
# or on Linux
# LICENSE_FILE = ../license/123456.lic
Remove the comment ‘#’ notation and set the license file name appropriately.
Advanced license server configuration will require further editing of the hbmuk-serv.cfg configuration file for example:
The default configuration file contains example syntax for these settings that is commented out; further information
on the options available may be found on the X-Formation website:
https://docs.x-formation.com/display/LMX/LM-X+End+Users+Guide
The server license may be started from the <HBM Prenscia install>/Licensing/bin directory; the syntax for this is as
follows:
lmx-serv [-background -config configfile -licpath licensefile -logfile logfile -port portnumber]
-config -c Specify an optional path to the hbmuk-serv.cfg configuration file. Typing the full path is required. If the server
is run without the -c parameter, it will use default settings.
-licpath -l Specify an optional license file path that will be read in addition to those specified within the hbmuk-serv.cfg
configuration file. If no default license is defined in the configuration file and the -l parameter is not specified (or no
license can be found in given location), the server will look for all .lic files in its directory.
-logfile -lf Specify an optional logfile path, which will override any logfile settings in the hbmuk-serv.cfg configuration
file.
-port -p All Specify an optional port number, which will override the port number set in the configuration file.
lmx-serv -b -c ../config/hbmuk-serv.cfg
The LM-X end user utility lmxendutil may be used to remotely shutdown or restart the license server:
