Semi Detailed Lesson Plan

Discipline and Ideas in Social Science

I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson the students will be able to;


• Examine the social ideas of filipino thinkers starting from Isabelo de los
Reyes, Jose Rizal, and other Filipino.

II. Subject Matter


Topic : Filipino Social Thinkers
Reference: Internet
Materials : Laptop, Power Point, LCD Projector, Manila paper, & Marker.

III. Procedure

a. Preparatory Activity
• Prayer and Checking of Attendance
• Setting of Standards
• Review the previous lesson

b. Motivation
• The teacher will show pictures from a foreign philophers,
economist, and sociologist to filipino ideologist or thinkers.
• The teacher will ask the students if they have notice from each
other or the differences.
• The teacher will ask if they have similarities.

c. Lesson Proper

A. Activity
• The Teacher will ask the students
“What do you think is our lesson for today?”
• Its about the Filipino Thinkers or Ideologist
• The teacher will ask, What is a Social Thinker?

B. Analysis

• Brainstorming
- The teacher will give a slides about ideology of a certain filipino
thinkers, the students then will guess who is the ideolgist.
(Jose Rizal, Isabelo delos reyes, Claro M. Recto)
Example: "Ang hindi marunong mag mahal sa sariling wika ay daig pa
ang hayop at malansang isda" by Jose Rizal
-Isabelo delos Reyes- He first organized the labor union in the
philippines. One of his advocacy was; He initiated the celebration of
the first Labor Day on May 1, 1902. For him, he must defend the First
Philippine Republic that was established by Emilio Aguinaldo and so
as the rights of the ordinary laborers.

- Why are they called our social thinkers?
- Are these contributions valuable to the filipino?

C. Abstraction

• The teacher will play a nationalistic song and allow the students to
be attentive and listen each lyrics. After hearing the song, the
teacher will ask the students which part of the song they are most
captured of and why.
• Why these ideologist remained to be known generation to generation?

D. Application
• The teacher will ask the student about which filipino social thinkers whom
they believed contributed much in our country? and why?
• Write the answer in a 1/4 size of manila paper.

IV Assignment
Directions: Collect more filipino social ideologist that we did not mention from our
topic today, give the positive feedback and negative feedback in the contribution of the
philippines.
