Gibsons aren't over priced when you think of the qaulity. They're made very nicely with a lot of
designs, they are durable and lost long, and the cherry on top us every one will complement you
on having a Gibson

@Pierce the Black Chemical Pilots Veil dude. They are over priced. $7k for a guitar? Most
schecters aren't even close to 4k.gibsons are good. But not 3-100k good. I've played Epiphones
that sound better than Gibsons. Plus Gibsons are known to not stay in tune with the nut and the
Tom stop tail piece.

rich with features, they're just for oldie collectors and classical players. They sound just fine and
look better and like I said, you have bragging rights when you have a Gibson

Sebastian Ridley I disagree with that. I think it's the musican who makes the difference. While
$100 lightweight cheap guitars are a pain to play if you're not new, a good musician can play
"with" the instrument and make it work.

shure Jeff beck still sounds good with a 20 $ guitar, and for shure a kid with a 2000$ gibson is not
going to sound better that what he does with the 20$ guitar. Guitars can be more or less
confortable, but a brand won't increase your skills.. i dont know for all those ones who think that
gibson is the best brand, probably is one of the worst brands in the market as far as the price
and quality is concerted...

While Carlos here is definetly right when it comes to comparing your ability on a semi-ok guitar
to a $3k one...there is a huge difference if you go from playing on a absolute shit guitar to a
decent one. there's a level of low quality fret work that will just ruin your life if you ever end up
with something in that bracket of bad.

I will stick to my Alvarez yairi as far as acoustic and as far as electric I do believe Gibson is
wonderful but you must be one with your guitar and you can make anything sounds great.
However as far as electric I will always love my fender even though I also have a les Paul and LTD.

Also look at the length of the racket -- it's too short to get the notes he's "playing." The pitch
you get from a string depends on the length of the string -- the shorter the string, the higher the
pitch; the longer the string, the lower the pitch. The music coming out of his speaker is of
normal pitch for an electric guitar -- but electric guitars have strings that are twice as long as the
"strings" on this tennis racket. There's no way he's getting those notes from such short strings --
it's all fake.

wanted to keep my original post relatively brief, so I did not include them. But now that you
brought them up, let's look at them: 1) The thickness of the string: Notice how skinny his strings
are -- they would have to be super thick to even approach the pitches he's getting at those short
lengths, but they're not. 2) The tension: there are limits to how loose you can tune a string
before it starts to sound weird, and then to lose its ability to hold a pitch at all. There's no way
he could tune those strings loose enough to get that sound and pitch out of such short strings.
It's all fake.

Another factor I didn't mention: Tuning pegs. To get the sound he's getting, you need real tuning
pegs to keep the tension on the strings precise enough and consistent enough to keep the
instrument in good enough tune to play the music that's coming out of his speaker. Those hooks
at the end of his tennis racket could never do that -- it's all fake. He's a total phony.

he's just another street performer who performs already written famous songs for money. the

everything used in this video and the subjects performance is bought. this man is not "poor"
nobody who has no money would waste it on effects pedals, generators/electric supply or
gimmick instruments, let alone have the wherewithal to build it by their own hand, with the
exception of the butter knife thumb piano, that's easy enough to do with a ruler and a table top,
same plan but with trapped blades, not hard. the song was already written, it's "hit the road
jack" so all the hard work has been done all he has to do is play the song well enough to keep
someones attention, obviously throwing in some solo work for something different but do what
it takes to stay in the barrier of the song so you don't disinterest someone.
i gave this guy "credit" in the form it is deserved. i said the build up was alright. he deserves no
more credit.
guitar rackets are an instrument being sold right now. thumb pianos too. mulitple effects pedals
for guitars, typewriters too. you have a problem with me, you tell me straight up, i don't play
guessing games. giving him credit for things he hasn't done is akin to being blind at a lazer show.
all the evidence is there, you're just not looking!

first of all, we have the internet, second of all i have eyes and third i have owned/used/sold/fixed
these instruments at one time or another. unless it is the most impossible coincidence he made
these instruments which look exactly like their mass produced look alikes, i'd go out on a limb
and say 100% he did not design/invent/create/manufacture these things.
the guitar, already done, the thumb piano, already done, it's not ingenuity or creative to have
something which appears to be exactly the same as something you can buy from a
vendor/distributor.
i'm very careful with my choice of words. i suggest you read my responses and learn how to use
the technology you're already using to ask me dumb questions and make dumb statements. this
man DID NOT make these instruments out of thin air, the schematics, the products and the
blueprints are not a secret. saying he is a scientist only eludes to him engineering them, there is

Also look at the length of the racket -- it's too short to get the notes he's "playing." The pitch
you get from a string depends on the length of the string -- the shorter the string, the higher the
pitch; the longer the string, the lower the pitch. The music coming out of his speaker is of
normal pitch for an electric guitar -- but electric guitars have strings that are twice as long as the
"strings" on this tennis racket. There's no way he's getting those notes from such short strings --
it's all fake.

the racket was purchased, not built. looks more street techy than it really is. he has more money
than you think. it's not cheap to have an electric set up outside with loopers and other obvious
effects pedals/sounds generated over the racket guitar.
don't be fooled. this isn't as awesome as you think. besides, it's hit the road jack. not exactly
hard. cool to see him build the song and perform it..... nothing astonishing here.

@manicmandownup i'm going to guess the missing word is "knowledge". it's not exactly a secret
these rackets are being sold on the market. too many people just see something and don't
question it, this is not acceptable so i decided to inform the people who happen across my
comment. what you mean to say is, you're not happy with knowing it's less impressive than it
really is, i'm pretty sure the first time i say a tennis racket guitar, i was rather impressed, the
accomplishment alone was unheard of and now it's normal. we're not pretending old discoveries
are somehow amazing when you see some random guy doing something you've never seen
before.
many people have not seen this instrument, they are surprised, they also see a possibly
homeless man making the image all the more incredible, when you strip it down, it's nothing
more than what we've seen before. seeing someone draw a perfect circle in freehand is cool,
just like this video, but it's not new and shouldn't be inflated in such a way to give credit to the
wrong people. the instruments were not made by him, except maybe the thumb piano, i'll
concede i can't think of the origins of one like that, that doesn't matter though, the concept is
not new, nor is it that impressive, kids do that with rulers on tables. the song was written by
someone else, so with not much room for creativity, he uses a looper to increase the depth of
the music so it's moer interesting. if he just played the guitar riff for "hit the road jack" with
nothing backing it up it would just be another guy on youtube.
i did say it was cool to see him build up the song, if you don't know how hard it is to perfectly
time your loops and not have to start again, then you're just going to brush it off and focus on
the novelty and not the content. he, himself, is a good guitar (racket) player, along with his
fluidity on the thumb piano.
this is just me going a little deeper into the kind of comment i can make with opinion on the
matter, if you want i could go even deeper into the parts one should respect and the parts
nobody should exaggerate. yeah, what he did was cool. nothing spectacular or astounding, just,
meh, another dude, playing music on the street. i'd defo drop him a quid or stick around and
listen. he's interesting but nothing more.
honestly, you're comment is covered in ignorance. you're just pissed off i made you realise how
mediocre this shit is, pointing out obvious flawed leaving little room for aesthetic attraction. he
plays well, but it's an easy ish song, clearly easy enough for him to hop onto different sections
like drums and thumb piano and back to guitar, that tells me he has more music experience than
he lets on and that song allows him to show off his multiple skills without breaking a rhythm.
that is why this is cool. the imagery means nothing when you look a little deeper, it's there you
find something truly interesting, giving a more satisfying appreciation to his expression. albeit
not that unique, still satisfying to see him do it in one take.

@manicmandownup new things are astonishing. especially when they have unfounded
technique behind them. Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen played guitar, nothing, new, what was
astonishing was how they played. the same with Jimmy Page, Jimmy Hendrix, Elvis, the list jsut
goes on and on until the birth of the instrument. at first, it was astonishing, it was mind blowing
everytime a new thing was done with it. the racket thing has been done for a while, long enough
were it shouldn't be a surprise anymore and there are people lying and hyping up their version
of things about this dude making it himself, being innovative, being special, being unique, and i
know it's not true. your observation of my comment was "huh, get over yourself", and if i might
add this, you was implying i was somehow better than this guy in my own head, when that isn't
true. the only good thing about this video is how he build the song in one go, that's all.
this isn't a review of the guy or his performance. it's a reminder not to be lied to and a reminder
not to just think something is true and have a logical reason why you think it is true without any
information. if i wanted to review his performance or have a philosphical discussion i wouldn't
hide behind some nonsense like informing people this isn't special. it's nothing new nor is it
something to think has never been done. it has. everything in this video has been done before
by someone else, he's just packaged it into a street performance.
i added my appreciation of his music to prevent trolls saying i have nothing nice to say about the
guy. i know nothing about him, i can't judge him by this little video. all i can do is watch. it's
other people soaking up bullshit and giving it right back who i'm contending with. the fact is, you
said i need to get over myself. i have yet to understand how to do that since nothing i originally

there are strings run along the neck. You can see two of them clearly when the camera goes in
focus around 1:35, but it looks like he might have more eye hooks screwed at the end for three
strings? Either way; he's also used zip-ties as the frets which is freaking awesome. This dude is
creative as hell, and a wicked musician on top of it.

+VeteranCape he's one person and in order to have many layers on a song made by one person
you have to be creative. And it's not computer generated, it recorded live and looped. He isn't
dragging and dropping notes to make a song.
If he messed up while recording and didn't catch it, it would be off. He's playing his music and it
sounds really cool. What he's doing is as artistic as a guy with an acoustic guitar playing country
solos or someone shredding a metal lick. Music and art is multi faceted and needs to stopped
being viewed as "if you don't do this you aren't a true artist"
