Schizophrenia Simulation
Participants: 2 people (Yourself and another to help with the simulation referred to as tester)
Materials: Headphones or Earphones
Phone or computer
Paper
Directions:
1. Start by putting head phones or earphones.
2. When ready to start the simulation, go to the link
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vvU-Ajwbok#action=share) and play the video
on repeat. Play the video to a volume you can still hear instructions.
3. Have the tester ask you to fold a paper boat using the instructions from the provided
link (https://www.pinterest.com/pin/534169205779576553/)
4. Have the tester say 5 words. For example, the words can be dog, cat, bird, worm, and
snake. The tester will say that these words are to be memorized without writing it
down.
5. The tester will ask 5 questions to you. These questions can range from simple, such as
“Say the alphabet backwards” or “Count backwards from 20 by 2 number intervals.”
After each question, the tester will ask you to repeat one of the words asked earlier.
6. After all the questions and tasks are completed, take off your headphones or
earphones and have the tester rate how well you did.
