PreK Counts Preschool Classroom The Cuddle Zone Learning Center
Based on my college credits and experience at The Cuddle Zone Learning
Center, I advanced from assistant teacher to co-lead preschool teacher in a Pre-K Counts classroom in June 2010. As co-leads, my co-worker and I maintained a positive learning environment for the students. We achieved a positive learning environment through reinforcement, age appropriate classroom management techniques and engaging learning experiences.
Lead Preschool Teacher December 2011 – August 2018
PreK Counts Preschool Classroom The Cuddle Zone Learning Center
The Cuddle Zone Learning Center promoted my role as co-lead to lead
preschool teacher upon receiving my Level I certification in early childhood education In December 2011. The lead teacher position aided my growth in the field of education. As a lead teacher, I ensure the learning environment and classroom teachers comply with regulations defined under the PreK Counts program and Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale (ECERS-3). Every week to two weeks, the classroom environment receives a rotation of learning centers to focus on the students’ developmental needs, interests and learning goals. When rotating learning materials, I complete a classroom environment sheet to verify the correct amount of materials for each area. Aside from the classroom environment, I maintain relationships with other teachers through meaningful conversations and demonstrating respect to all opinions. Together we reflect, and plan based on students’ needs acquired through observation. To maintain positive parent- teacher relationships, I communicate with families best suiting their needs and provide regular meetings. Weekly completion of important documents relating to our classroom and students’ development aid the lesson planning process.
Lead Prekindergarten Teacher August 2018 – Present
PreK Counts Classroom The Cuddle Zone Learning Center
My new role as a prekindergarten teacher provided the opportunity to ensure the
classroom environment envisioned expectations of the PreK Counts program and Keystone Stars; while promoting kindergarten readiness. The main goal focused on creating a setting in which students learn through interests and personal ideas. My responsibilities and expectations as a lead teacher remain the same in which I ensure the classroom environment follows regulations stated by the Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale (ECERS-3). I continue to develop and implement instructional experiences in which student use higher-level thinking skills to explore new and familiar concepts. I reflect with my assistant teacher on students learning and development to maintain focus on the needs of the students. We strive to provide our students with learning experiences vital to their future in primary grade levels and personal preferences.
