Dear Ms. Williams,

Via multiple e-mails and tweets, in recent weeks I've been trying to obtain a published correction to
a simple, straightforward factual error in this February 3, 2019 article by reporter Kaitlyn Tiffany
https://www.vox.com/the-goods/2019/2/3/18209864/audi-super-bowl-53-cashew-ad-etron-gt

On February 4th & 5th respectively, I e-mailed and tweeted Ms. Tiffany. I didn't receive a reply, so I
tweeted managing editor Ben Pauker. On February 6 he e-mailed me and asked for details, which I
appreciated. The next day I e-mailed him a friendly, thorough explanation of the error a request for
a published correction, but I didn't receive a reply.

On February 19, after an enjoyable correspondence with editors at the Cornell Chronicle (which
published the same error), I obtained a thorough published correction from that publication --
details via my blog http://tinyurl.com/yck3mkwk

The next day, I e-mailed that information to Mr. Pauker and requested the status of my February 7
corrections request. Also that day I copied you on this tweet to Mr. Pauker http://tinyurl.com
/y3d8zaaj in which I cited Vox's published ethics and guidelines https://www.vox.com/2018/12
/7/18113237/ethics-and-guidelines-at-vox-com

I didn't receive a reply, hence this outreach.

1) Would you please advise the status of my February 7 corrections request?

2) Per this January 31, 2017 Washington Post story by Erik Wemple http://tinyurl.com/y3q3sl8o
and this September 11, 2018 IMediaEthics story by Sydney Smith http://tinyurl.com/ycajjl28 and
this February 11, 2019 UK Press Gazette story by Charlotte Tobitt http://tinyurl.com/yybug3me I've
gotten my share of published corrections. In fact, according to Mr. Wemple's report, I may be a
record-holder, so I'm curious. Is my experience typical of how your publication processes
corrections requests?

Thank you for your time/attention and I look forward to your reply. Questions for me? Just ask.

Sincerely,

Peter M. Heimlich
