1. System introduction
1.1. Hardware
The hardware components of the DCS system includes UPS system, I/O control cabinets,
power distribution cabinets, servers, operation panels. These hardware are located in six
control rooms, cane preparation control room, dewatering control room, clarification and
evaporation control room, boiling control room, recycling water control room and central
control room.

1.2. HMI

1.2.1. Cane preparation


The implementation of DCS is to achieve the even grinding and automatic control via DCS
system, the equipments of the section are as follows, Cane carrier ( X1301 ) ,bent
conveyor(X1303),leveler(K1301),knife sets(K1302)、shredder(K1303)、cane
feeder table(X1103~X1104 ) , control points of lubrication oil system such as running
status, current of motor, temperature of bearing etc.

1.2.4. Air compression and steam cooling


The control points of the section include the pressure of condensate tank No.1,
condensate No.2 , temperature and pressure of input and output of high temperature type
freeze drier ,temperature of step-down transformer and pipeline pressure device

2.1. System start and shut down
2.1.1. System start
(1) Main distribution cabinet power on
Step 1:Main distribution cabinet power on(PWS20)

 Switch on Q1 first,then switch on air-switch Q2, Q3, F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F991, F992,
F993 in sequence.

Step 2:UPS cabinet (UPS20) power on

 Switch on Q1 first.
 UPS power on
 Switch on air switch Q4, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F991, F992, F993 in sequence.

Note, in addition to the malfunction of UPS, please switch off Q1 first, and switch on air-switch
Q2,F1,Q3,Q4,F2,F3,F4,F5,F6, F991,F992,F993, then the power supplied is not by UPS but bypass
circuit.

The following step can be done accordingly after DCS main distribution cabinet powered
on.

(2) System power on of central control center


Step 1,open servers (SVR1,SVR2)

 Turn on the power of server 1and server2 (SVR1,SVR2)


 Turn on the display of the servers
 Input the password (14002Bhlae),the operation system is windows server 2008.
 Double click the icon of , and start the WinCC Explorer project.
 Single click the icon of in top left corner and activate SVR1 and SVR2

Step 2, Open the operation stationOP2901, OP2902, OP2903, OP2904

 Turn on the power of operation station OP2901, OP2902, OP2903, OP2904.


 Turn on the display of the PC
 Input the password(14002Bhlae),the operation system is windows7.
 Double click the icon of , start WinCC Explorer project
 Single click the icon of in top left corner and activate operation station OP2901,
OP2902, OP2903, OP2904.
 Log on as operator, details refer to the users' authorization definition.

(3) System power on of cane preparation control room


Step 1, Power distribution cabinet (PWS13A) power on

 Switch on Q1 first,then switch on air-switch F1,F3,F991,F992,F993 in sequence.

Step 2 , I/O cabinet(RIO13A) power on

 Switch on air-switch F1, F2, F101, F102, F103, F104, F991, F992,F993 in sequence.

Step 3, Start operation station (OP13A)

 Turn on the power of the operation station (OP13A).


 Turn on the display of the operation station.
 Input password(14002Bhlae),the operation system is windows7.
 Double click the icon ,then start WinCC Explorer and run the project.
 Click the icon in top left icon and activate the operation station(OP13A).
 Log on as operator, details refer to the users' authorization definition.

(4) System power on of dewatering control room


Step 1, Power distribution cabinet (PWS15A) power on.

 Switch on Q1 first, then switch on the air-switch F1, F2, F6, F7, F8, F9, F10, F11, F12,
F13, F14, F17, F18, F200, F201, F202, F203, F204, F205, F991, F992, F993 in
sequence
Step 2, I/O cabinet (RIO15A01) power on

 Switch on air-switch F1, F2, F101, F102, F103, F104, F991, F992, F993 in sequence.

Step 3, I/O cabinet (RIO15A02) power on

 Switch on the air-switch F1, F2,F101,F102,F991,F992,F993 in sequence.

Step4, Start operation station (OP1501,OP1502)

 Turn on the power of operation station (OP1501,OP1502).


 Turn the display of the operation station (OP1501,OP1502).
 Input the password (14002Bhlae) , the operation system is windows 7.
 Double click the icon then start WinCC Explorer and run the project.
 Click the icon on top left corner of the screen and activate the operation station(
OP1501, OP1502).
 Log on as operator, details refer to the authorization definition.

(5) System power on of clarification control room


Step 1: Power distribution cabinet (PWS21) power on

 Switch on Q1 first, then switch on air-switch F1, F2, F11, F12, F13, F14, F15, F16,
F17, F18, F25, F200, F20, F202, F991, F992, F993 in sequence.

Step 2:CPU cabinet (CON20) power on

 Switch on air-switch F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F101, F102, F103, F104, F991, F992,
F993 in sequence.

Step 3:I/O cabinet ( RIO21) power on

 Switch on air-switch F1, F2, F3, F4, F101, F102, F103, F104, F105, F106, F107,
F991, F992, F993 in sequence.

Step4 :Start the operation station (OP2101,OP2102)

 Turn on the power of operation station (OP2101,OP2102)


 Turn on the power of the display of the operation station.
 Input he password (14002Bhlae), the operation system is windows7.
 Double click the icon ,then start WinCC Explorer and run the project.
 Click the icon on the top left corner of screen and activate the operation station
(OP2101,OP2102).
 Log on as operator, details refer to the authorization definition.

(6) System power on of boiling control room


Step 1:Power distribution cabinet ( PWS24) power on

 Switch on Q1 first, then switch on air-switch F1, F2, F5, F6, F7, F8, F9, F10, F12, F13,
F17, F18, F200, F201, F202, F203, F204, F205, F206, F207, F208, F209, F210,
F211, F212, F213, F214, F215, F216, F217, F218, F219, F220, F221, F222,
F223,F224, F225, F226, F227, F228, F229, F230, F231, F232, F991, F992, F993 in
sequence.

Step 2:I/O cabinet (RIO2401) power on

 Switch on air-switch F1, F2, F3, F4, F101, F102, F103, F104, F991, F992, F993 in
sequence.

Step 3:I/O cabinet (RIO2402) Power on

 Switch on air-switch F1, F2, F3, F4, F101, F102, F991, F992,F993 in sequence.

Step 4:Start the operation station (OP2401,OP2402)


 Turn on the power of the operation station (OP2401, OP2402).
 Turn on the power of display.
 Input the password (14002Bhlae),the operation system is Windows.
 Double click the icon ,then start WinCC Explorer and run the project.
 Click the icon in top left corner and activate the operation station
(OP2401,OP2402).
 Log on as operator, details refer to the authorization definition.

(7) System start in recycling water control room


Step 1:I/O cabinet (RIO53) power on

 Switch on Q1 first,then switch on air-switch F1, F2, F101, F102, F103, F104, F991,
F992, F993 in sequence.

Note: There is no power distribution cabinet and operation station in this control room.

2.1.2. System power off

(1) System power off of cane preparation control room


Step 1:Exit runtime and operation station shut down

 Press ' Deactivate' to exit the project in the pop-up box 'exit runtime' after single click
the icon (close process mode) of operation station (OP13A).

 Shut down the computer (OP13A).

Step 2, I/O cabinet (RIO13A) power off

 Switch off the air-switch F1, F2, F101, F102, F103, F104, F991, F992, F993 in
sequence.
Step 3, Power distribution cabinet (PWS13A) power off

 Switch off the air-switch F1, F3, F991, F992, F993 in sequence.
 Switch off Q1.

Step 1:Exit runtime and operation station shut down.

 Press ' Deactivate' to exit the project in the pop-up box 'exit runtime' after single click
the icon (close process mode) of operation station (OP1501,OP1502).
 Shut down the computer (OP1501,OP1502) .

Step 2:I/O cabinet ( RIO15A01) power off.

 Switch off the air-switch F1, F2, F101, F102, F103, F104, F991, F992, F993 in
sequence.

Step 3:I/O cabinet (RIO15A02) power off.

 Switch off the air-switch F1, F2, F101, F102, F991, F992,F993 in sequence.

Step 4:Power distribution cabinet (PWS15A) power off

 Switch off the air-switch F1, F2, F6, F7 ,F8, F9, F10, F11, F12, F13, F14, F17, F18,
F200, F201, F202, F203, F204, F205, F991, F992, F993 in sequence.
 Switch off Q1.

(3) System power off of boiling control room


Step 1:Exit runtime and operation station shut down:
 Press ' Deactivate' to exit the project in the pop-up box 'exit runtime' after single click
the icon (close process mode) of operation station (OP2401,OP2402).
 Shut down the computer (OP2401,OP2402) .

Step 2:I/O cabinet RIO2401 power off


 Switch off the air-switch F1,F2,F3,F4,F101,F102,F103,F104,F991,F992, F993 in
sequence.

Step 3: I/O cabinet RIO 2402 power off.


 Switch off the air- switch F1, F2, F3, F4, F101, F102, F991, F992, F993 in sequence.

Step 4, Power distribution cabinet PWS 24 power off.


 Switch off the air-switch F1, F2 , F5, F6, F7, F8, F9, F10, F12, F13, F17, F18, F200,
F201,F202, F203, F204, F205, F206, F207, F208, F209, F210, F211, F212, F213,
F214, F215, F216, F217, F218, F219, F220, F221, F222, F223, F224 ,F225, F226,
F227 , F228, F229, F230 ,F231, F232, F991, F992 ,F993 in sequence.
 Switch off Q1.

(4) System power off of recycling water control room


Step 1:I/O cabinet RIO 53 power off.

 Switch off the air-switch F1, F2, F101, F102, F103, F104, F991, F992,F993 in
sequence.
 Switch off Q1.

(5) System power off of clarification control room


Step 1:Exit runtime and operation station shut down.
 Press ' Deactivate' to exit the project in the pop-up box 'exit runtime' after single click
the icon (close process mode) of operation station (OP2101,OP2102).
 Shut down the computer (OP2101,OP2102) .

 Step 2:I/O cabinet RIO21 power off


 Switch off the air-switch F1, F2, F3, F4, F101, F102, F103, F104, F105, F106, F107,
F991, F992, F993 in sequence.

Step 3:CPU cabinet (CON20) power off


 Switch off the air- switch F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F101, F102, F103, F104, F991, F992,
F993 in sequence.

Step 4, Power distribution cabinet ( PWS21) power off.

 Switch off the air-switch F1, F2, F11, F12, F13, F14, F15, F16, F17, F18, F25,
F200,F201,F202,F99,F992,F993 in sequence.
 Switch off Q1.

(6) System power off of central control room


Step 1:Exit runtime and operation station shut down.
 Press ' Deactivate' to exit the project in the pop-up box 'exit runtime' after single click
the icon (close process mode) of operation station (OP2901, OP2902, OP2903,
OP2904).
 Shut down the computer (OP2901,OP2902,OP2903,OP2904) .

Step 2:Project termination and servers shut down.


 Press ' Deactivate' to exit the project in the pop-up box 'exit runtime' after single click
the icon (close process mode) of operation station (SVR1,SVR2).
 Shut down the computer (SVR1、SVR2).

(7) Main Power distribution cabinet power off


Step 1, UPS cabinet (UPS 20 ) power off.
 Switch off the air-switch Q4, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F991, F992, F993 in sequence.
 Power off the UPS ( press the power button for 10 seconds or more).
 Switch off Q1.

Step 2, Power distribution PWS 20 power off.

 Switch off the air-switch Q2, Q3, F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F991, F992, F993 in sequence.
 Switch off Q1.

2.2. Log on and athorizaition


The following is system log on interface after project activation.

It's easy to realize the fucntion of user access management, different users can be
authorized to different system application. There are two level role authorization in this
DCS system.
Administrator /Admin;
Operator
/OP13A、OP1501、OP1502、OP2101、OP2102、OP2401、OP2402、OP2901、OP29
02、OP2903、OP2904;

Authorization allocation:
Administrator:full privileges of monitoring, process control ,advanced process control for
all section.
Operator:Monitoring, process control for designated section
After single click icon of ,One can switch the role as the tips of the system login pop-
pu dialog box. The following is the login dialog box.

 Login name of operation station OP13A is ' OP13A ',the privilege of this user
is only designated for section of cane preparation section.
 Login name of operation station OP1501 is ' OP1501 ' , the privilege of this
user is only designated for section of extraction, dewatering and air-pressure.
 Login name of operation station OP1502 is ' OP1502 ' , the privilege of this
user is only designated for section of extraction and dewatering.
 Login name of operation station OP2101 is ' OP2101 ' , the privilege of this
user is only designated for section of clarification, filtering, evaporation and milk
of lime.
 Login name of operation station OP2102 is ' OP2102 ' , the privilege of this
user is only designated for section of clarification, filtering, evaporation and milk

 Login name of operation station OP2402 is ' OP2402 ',the privilege of this
section is only designated for section of A sugar boiling No.1, A sugar boiling

The size of the user interface and the sizes of the three areas within it are specified by the
configuration. The overview area and button area are always displayed. The working area
displays message lists and individual process pictures that may have faceplates and
operator control windows superimposed for process control or dialog boxes superimposed
for system operator inputs. The button area consists of two sets of buttons. The operator
can switch from one set to the other. An additional button set is provided for operator
control of the message system.

2.3.2. Appearance of the cursor during process operation


Operator can perform control functions in the 'overview area', 'work area' and 'button area'
by moving the cursor to a command button or an icon and pressing the left mouse button.

operation control can be performed if the cursor does not change. The cursor becomes a

2.3.3.Overview area
(1) Purpose of the overview area
The overview area provides the operator with a constant overview of the status of the
entire plant. The overview area is used for monitoring and fast detection of problems in
the various areas of the plant. The overview area is displayed in various layouts according
to the configuration. The operator can define an OS-specific layout in the OS project
editor. The illustrations in this description are based on the "SIMATIC standard 1024*768"
(standard resolutions up to 2560*1600 maybe selected).

Each plant area is represented by an area selection button in the overview area. If the
operator click on an area selection button, the corresponding process picture of the
highest picture hierarchy level is displayed in the working area. The message with the
highest priority is displayed in the overview area. If two messages have the same priority,
the latest one is displayed.

(2) Operator control functions in the overview area

2.3.5. Button area
(1) Introduction
Two button sets with standardized operator buttons are defined for process control in the
OS. Button set 1 is displayed when the operator start process mode. Use the operator

The operator can switch between the two sets of buttons with the following operator

2.4. Alarm
2.4.1.Alarm classification
There are three types of alarm information in this project: alarm, warning, error, the
display is yellow, red and black. The operator can deal with the alarm(yellow) and warning
(red) according to the relative principle , as for the error(black), the operator should inform
the maintenance personnel or system engineers.

 yellow alarm: The operator should check whether some parameters reach the
limits or not.
 Red warning, The operator should deal with the warning information.
 Black error, The operator should inform the maintenance personnel or system
engineers to deal with the error.
2.5. Archive and reports
The archive system consists: process values, operation records(logs) , warning
messages.

2.5.1.Archive and print of process values


The process values include all values created by all sections, such as level, temperature,
pressure, flow, current, PH, Chlorine content, Oxygen content, Ammonia nitrogen content
etc.

Open the HMI of archive for process values after single click of icon , there are
process values in the table of WinCC Online Table Control, The operator can increase of
decrease the form, change the time column or do some other changes.
The operator can print the process values via single click the icon on the left top of
WinCC Online Table Control.

System can record all logs of operation and the precise time of each operation that the
operators carried out in the control room. The operation records include not only the
operations of open/ close of valves and motors, parameters set and modification, but also
the time, device no. state before modification, state after modification, user name etc.
The operator can see the new information, acknowledged information, process
information, operation record, system logs after single click the button . The following is

3. Troubleshooting
3.1. No feeback on hierarchy area and system function button
area

Treatment1: Exit from graphical operation system and restart the graphical operation
system.
Details as follows:

 press 'windows' button on the keyboard, right click the 'WINCC running
system' after press the 'display or hide icon' in the right bottom of task bar,
then choose ' exit from graphical operation system' .
 Right click the 'WINCC running system' after press the 'display or hide icon'
in the right bottom of task bar, then choose ' run graphical operation system'.

If the problem still can't be solved, please refer to treatment No.2


treatment 2:Deactivate running system and reactivate running system.

 Unplug the usb license key hard lock.
