1.What is Albert Einstein occupation? What are Albert Einstein known for?
Albert Einstein was one of the greatest scientist. His occupation was a scientist and
theoretical physicist. Albert Einstein was a big icon in science. He was mostly known for
discovering theory of reality.“Einstein then spent 10 years trying to include acceleration in the
theory and published his theory of general relativity in 1915. In it, he determined that massive
objects cause a distortion in space-time, which is felt as gravity” (Redd par 2). Albert Einstein
published four papers in the Annalen Der Physik, known in the best physics journals in the
world. “The four papers focused on the photoelectric effect, Brownian motion, the special theory
of relativity... and the matter/energy relationship, thus taking physics in an electrifying new
direction. In his fourth paper, Einstein came up with the equation E=mc2, suggesting that tiny
particles of matter could be converted into huge amounts of energy, foreshadowing the
development of atomic power” ( “Albert Einstein Biography” par). Einstein made the famous
equation E=mc2. “E = mc2, equation in German-born physicist Albert Einstein’s theory of
special relativity that shows that the increased relativistic mass (m) of a body comes from the
energy of motion of the body—that is, its kinetic energy (E)—divided by the speed of light
squared (c2)”(Perkowitz par 1). Einstein won a Nobel Prize for Physics in 1922. He won the
Nobel Prize in Physics because “For his services to Theocracy Physics ,and especially for his
discovery of the law of photoelectric effect”( “Nobel” par 1).

2. What are Albert Einstein cultural origins? (where were they born and family ancestry)
Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1878 in Ulm, Wurttemberg, Germany. Albert
Einstein grew up as a Jewish family. His father, Hermann Einstein was a engineer and a
salesmen. His mother, Pauline Koch took care and took control over the household. He had only
one sibling and it was his younger sister Maja. Einstein could not speak until he was 3 years old.
He had a hard time in school. His teacher thought his speech needed improvement in order to
learn to the best of his ability. When Albert Einstein was younger he went to elementary school
Luitpold Gymnasium in Munich. Albert Einstein “... a passion for classical music and playing
the violin that would stay with him into his later years”(“Albert Einstein Biography” par 4). His
dad lost his business so he had to relocate in Milan, Italy. Albert Einstein was left behind so he
could stay in his elementary school for his education. Then he withdrew from his classes and
went back to his parents in Italy. Afterward he went to Swiss Federal Polytechnic school in
Zurich because he got a high score in physics and mathematics. He Attended High school in
Aarau, Switzerland. He renounced his German citizenship and became a Switzerland citizenship.

3. What is Albert Einstein personal history? (brief background; including career, marriage and
death)
Albert Einstein was a scientist and physicist. Einstein meet his wife in the school of
Zurich. He fell in love with Mileva Maric who was serbian physics student. His parents
disapproved of her at first because her background of her culture. In 1902 they had a daughter
Quinones 4

named Lieserl but she was raised by Mileva relatives. After Einstein father passed away they got
married on January 6, 1903. They later on had two sons Hans and Eduard. Hans Albert Einstein
was born in July 1904 in Bern Switzerland. Six years later, Edward was born on July in 1910 in
Zurich. After nine years on the 14th of February in 1919, they got divorced because they were
unhappy with each other. He had an affair with Elsa Lowenthal since 1912 and got married in
1919. Elsa Lowenthal was his first cousin. They both migrated to the United States in 1933. His
second marriage ended because of Lowenthal's death in 1936 .“In 1935, Elsa Einstein was
diagnosed with heart and kidney problems; she died in December 1936”( “Married life”).
In his final years, he had suffered of abdominal aortic aneurysm. “He was taken to the
University Medical Center at Princeton for treatment but refused surgery, believing that he had
lived his life and was content to accept his fate”( “Albert Einstein Biography” par ). On April 18,
1955 Albert Einstein died at the University medical center at the age of 76. “During the autopsy,
the pathologist of Princeton Hospital, Thomas Stoltz Harvey, removed Einstein's brain for
preservation without the permission of his family, in the hope that the neuroscience of the future
would be able to discover what made Einstein so intelligent. Einstein's remains were cremated
and his ashes were scattered at an undisclosed location” (“Wikipedia” par ). Albert Einstein
Brain was located at Princeton University Medical center.

4. What is the history of their country? (during their lifetime) How did the history impact their
success or failure?
When Albert Einstein had conflict with his work because he was raised in a Jewish
family. Which causes the Nazi to go after him by making propaganda. “While Einstein was
travelling and speaking internationally, the Nazis, led by Adolf Hitler, were gaining prominence
with violent propaganda and vitriol in an impoverished post-WWI Germany. The party
influenced other scientists to label Einstein's work "Jewish physics"(“Albert Einstein biography”
par 2). Einstein was a target to be killed by the German Nazi’s. Albert Einstein left Switzerland
and moved to the United States because he was getting threatened by Germany. When he arrived
in the United States he went to Princeton, New Jersey. Einstein and his friend Leo szilard alerted
President Franklin D, Roosevelt to tell him that the Nazi’s might possibly have a bomb and gave
the president advice to make nuclear weapons for the U.S. They later called this the Manhattan
project. Later on, he became an American citizen. “During WWII, he worked on Navy-based
weapons systems and made big monetary donations to the military by auctioning off manuscripts
worth millions”( “Albert Einstein Biography” par ).

5.What group is associated with Albert Einstein ?

Albert Einstein was associated with the United States government by helping them
making nuclear weapsons to defeat the Nazi’s, Germans in World War II. He made nuclear
weapons for the Navy and donated to them. “Around this time, Einstein also became a member
of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, seeing the parallels between
the treatment of Jews in Germany and African Americans in the United States” (“Albert Einstein
Biography” par 6 ).
Albert Einstein was also associated with teachers’ in Princeton and multiple scholar
scientists. In Princeton he was a professor teaching physics and helping other scientists by
getting involved with their experiments and their theories. He made a group called Institute for
Advanced Study. He gave lectures about the Theory of Relativity. He often help students with
math problems and the theories of mathematics. “During the Princeton years, Einstein continued
his studies in general relativity, his critical discussion of the interpretation of quantum theory,
and his work on a unified field theory, which was included in appendices to The Meaning of
Relativity in its third, fourth, and fifth University Press editions. At the same time, he played an
increasingly prominent role on the world stage as an advocate of nuclear control and world
peace”( “Einstein, Albert” par 7). Albert Einstein was mostly associated with the teachers in
Princeton, scientists, and physicists.

6. What are the practices/ Traditions of the group associated with Albert Einstein?

Albert Einstein practice with the group of scientist who were associated in making
theories and experiments. Albert Einstein was a scientist who made theories and experiments
about physics. Einstein wrote a Theory of relativity. He has two ways of theory of relativity that
are general relativity and special relativity. “General relativity explains the law of gravitation and
its relation to other forces of nature”( “Theory of Relativity”par 1). Special Relativity explains
how it “..applies to elementary particles and their interactions, describing all their physical
phenomena except gravity”( “Theory of Relativity” par 1). It Special Relativity is basically about
the theory of structure of space theory. “In special relativity, however, the energy of a body at
rest is determined to be mc2. Thus, each body of rest mass m possesses mc2 of “rest energy,”
which potentially is available for conversion to other forms of energy”( “E=mc2 Equation” par2
). Einstein tested his theories multiple times to see if he was correct. He also made predictions
about the outcome of his experiments. He also made inventions like the most famous topic he is
known for is his equation of E= mc2. He made the mathematical equation to find out the mass
times the speed of light squared.

7. Does Albert Einstein practice a religion, philosophy, belief system or other devotion?

In Albert Einstein childhood he grew up with a secular Jewish parents and went to a
Catholic public elementary school in Munich. He stopped believing in God when he was twelve
and he started to believe the bible could not be true. So he lost his connection towards to God
and since then he stopped believing in God. He thought believing in God was being naive or
childish.
Albert Einstein didn't have a religion, he didn't believe in anything. “He did not believe in
a personal God who concerns himself with fates and actions of human beings, a view which he
described as naïve” ( “Religious and philosophical views of Albert Einstein”par 1). He always
declared that he wasn't atheist but rather be called as agnostic or “non believer”. Einstein didn't
believe in afterlife and so when others asked him if he believed on the afterlife he would replied
with "No. And one life is enough for me” (“Religious and philosophical views of Albert
Einstein”par 1). “In a letter to Beatrice Frohlich on 17 December 1952, Einstein stated, "The idea
of a personal God is quite alien to me and seems even naïve”’( “Religious and philosophical
views of Albert Einstein” par 2).

8. What impact have Albert Einstein had on the world?

Albert Einstein had the biggest impact in the world by inventing the equation E=mc2. It's
basically helps the world to understand that energy equals the mass times the speed square.
Albert Einstein was one of the greatest scientist that ever lived. He was a genius of mankind
Einstein also impact in the world by making his theories like the Theory of Relativity. He helped
the United States to make nuclear weapons in World War II. He donated the weapons to the navy
force to defeat the Germans. He made the four papers about his work that lead up to the equation
of E=mc2 and the Theory of Relativity. Einstein became a teacher in Princeton in New Jersey to
teach his interpretation of physics and his theories.”The embodiment of genius and the
pre-eminent scientist of the modern age, his theories and discoveries have profoundly affected
the way people view and understand the world and their place in it”(“Albert Einstein is one of
the most famous, iconic, influential and universally admired in human history” par 1).

9. Would be interested in meeting Albert Einstein? Why?

I would love to meet Albert Einstein because he was one of the biggest icons in science
and he's a genius. I would like to ask him many questions about how he traveled and how he
became so great and intrigued in the subjects of science and mathematics. Plus I really love math
and science so I'll ask him to help me to understand it better. I would ask him how did he get the

Quinones 7

idea of E=mc2. I’ll ask him to tutor me in science since i'm not so good on that. I will also ask
him how did he invented the theories of Relativity. Lastly, I would ask him what made him like
science so much and is there any equations he could teach me.

Summary

In Ideas and Opinions b y Albert Einstein is about Albert einstein education, friends,
religion and his freedom. In the book Einstein talked about his thoughts of his religion like how
he doesn't believe in God because it doesn't make since how he made the earth and how God
forgives everyone. He still respects the Jewish religion but he doesn't believe in it. He believes
more than science than religion. He calls himself “nonbeliever” in religion. When World War II
started he was called out by his work and was in the hit list of the Nazi’s. The German Nazi’s
called his work “Jewish Physics”. Einstein explained the reason why he got called out was
because he was raised up in a Jewish family. Then Einstien moved to United States to escape the
Nazi’s and later found a way to make nuclear weapons. He worked at Princeton as Professor to
teach Physics and Mathematics. For Einstein education he said he wasn't the brightest kid when
he was little that his parents had to get a tutor for him. He said he didn't like school when he was
younger because he get it that much. His teachers told his parents that he was very slow and has
hard time with every subject. He mentions how he wasn't a genius at first but it took him time.
Later on he went to Swiss federal Polytechnic school in Zurich because he got a high score on
Mathematics and Science.
In the last section part V Contributions to Sciences, Einstein talks about on his thoughts
about science like coming up with theories and it took him years to get it right. He had to do
research on his theories and experiments if it will work. Einstein's examples how the Theory of
Reality works and how he published in it his four paper in Ahalen der Phisik, it was one of the
best journals of science in that time. The Four papers explains the photoelectric effect, special
theory of relativity and the matter/ mass. Albert Einstein also explained how he invented the the
equation of E=mc2. Einstein included the equation has four papers that was disturbed in the
papers. The equation means the energy equal the mass of the speed light squared. Einstein's
theory of relativity in two ways; special relativity and general realty. He mentions how it took
him years to find out if its right and he tried many times if it was wrong or right. Albert Einstein
was a genius because he was scientific and a great in mathematics. He mentioned how he never
gave up in his failures. Albert Einstein stated that it took him a while and devastations to come
up with his experiments. Einstein had many theories but had some ups and downs but he kept on
going with his theories and inventions by not giving up.

Review

In Ideas and Opinions b y Albert Einstein I did not really like the book because it did not
give me any information about his childhood. This book is also so long and boring. So pretty
much this book was useless to me. This book should explain more about his theories in full
detailed like it did not make sense to me. He should have talked more about his family and his
marriages. I would have liked if he would mention how he traveled a lot and how he switched
schools when he was younger. I wished he explain more in detail how he made his theories up
and his inventions. This book was about 377 pages long and had no plot so that made it boring.
This book had no storyline and basically just talking about his ideas and opinions. It is mostly
about scientific things so if you don't like science don't read this book because half of the things I
did not get. The book didn't make sense to me because it had big scientific words. I wish I never
had read this book because it's the worst book I ever read like I wanted to stab my eyeballs out
while reading this book. I did not like how this book was structured like it didn't say what
chapter it was. This book had too much of Politics and had less information about his children
and marriages. He should have talked more about his family like how did they help him, and
how they influenced his life. The one thing that I liked is how he still gave respect to Jews
religion when he gave up on believing in God.I wish he went into more detail why he gave up in
his religion like is because of science and is it about his failures. He should have wrote more on
his personal life so get to see more sides of him. I would like to know what happened to his his
first daughter. I would have also liked if he talked more about his sons like did he have a good
relationship with his children. I do not recommend this book to my fellow classmates because it
was so boring and very long to read.

I am a highschool student sophomore and I had to read this book for a research project. I

personally liked this book because it was filled with information and ideas. This book is very

lengthy but overall I thought the it was really good. If you're not interested in math or science I

would not recommend this book. If you do like math and science however, I would highly

recommend this book because it's very interesting. The book is very informative about Albert

Einstein’s thoughts and ideas. The book goes into detail about how Einstein invented his work

like his famous equation E=mc^2. Einstein also gives his opinions and ideas about religion,

education, and science. It’s a fascinating book to learn information that you never knew. I

especially really liked this book because Albert Einstein wrote this book himself. If you want to
know more about modern science and scientific theories than this is the book for you. Overall

this book is very detailed and informative gives accurate examples of his work and life.
