First Sunday of Lent

Greetings of peace.

This week we kick off our next round of raffle sales. A huge thank-you to Fr. Brian for all of the hard work
he does on this important fundraiser for the Shrine. The upcoming drawing is on Sunday, April 14, at
6:30pm. You do not need to be present at the drawing to win. The top prize is $10,000. For the sales, we
can accept cash and checks, but aren’t allowed to accept credit cards. We are careful to follow the rules
pertaining to raffles. You can buy tickets at the information booth in the lobby and, on selected Sundays, at
the Welcome Desk in the lobby. Thank you for your support of this fundraiser to support our ministries!

We extend a thank-you to all of you who were part of our worship on Ash Wednesday. We saw a larger-than-
usual number of young adults with us during the day, despite some cold weather. The day is a one of
inspiration all around. Let’s continue to encourage one another with acts of faith!

Br. Paul Bourque’s Suggestions for
Lenten Acts of Random Kindness
“Kind words can be short and easy to speak. But their echoes are truly endless.”
~ Mother St. Teresa of Calcutta
- Write a note to Yelp.com about how good a waiter or waitress was.
- Surprise a friend with a gift from your vacation.
- Listen more. Talk less.
Caution: When choosing kindness, positive side effects may occur, such as increased optimism, reduced stress,
lowered anxiety, and a tendency to make the world a better place.

Check back each week for new suggestions!

The friars at St. Anthony Shrine would like to stay in communication with you. There are a number of ways
to make that happen. One option is to be on selective Shrine mailing lists, according to your choosing. You
may already be on some of our mailing lists. If you would like to be added to any of the lists below, please
provide your contact information. You may remove yourself from any or all of our mailing lists at any time.
It is our policy that we never sell our lists to anyone.
