Abstract
The present work aimed to investigate the contributions of non-Euclidean Geometries teaching
in high school and how the Taxicab Geometry can be taught using digital technologies in a class
of Proeja Tourist Guide course, because it is a different geometry from that which is presented in
the classroom, the Euclidean one. The idea of studying the Taxicab Geometry is due to the fact
that it is more adequate to describe the distance between two points (houses, apartments, shops,
etc.) in a city than Euclid’s one. Thus, taking into account the specificity of adults education
and the context of the technical course whose students move in the cities, we applied a sequence
of activities that included an introductory class with the use of Google Maps, exploring an
app which is learning object in a class inside the computer lab and a questionnaire applied to
students. The main results observed were that Taxicab Geometry can be an interdisciplinary
content that articulates Mathematics to the specific disciplines of the tourist guide course. In
addition to this fact, the use of digital technologies can modify the dynamics of the class and
place students in an active position within the teaching-learning process, motivating them and
