I. Describe the Class

a. Class of approximately fifteen college-level education students, with interests in

k-12 grade levels. Class to be held in normal table rows.

II. Subject/Skill

a. Preventing Problems: Techniques of Classroom Management

III. Objectives

a. Students will be able to understand the benefit to preventing possible behavior

issues within the classroom

b. Students will be able to describe Kounin’s techniques for preventing classroom

behavior problems

c. Students will be able to list key classroom management tips that they found

important

d. Students will be able to answer questions following the presentation concerning

classroom management

IV. Procedures

1. Open presentation, lesson plan, video and all websites, and kahoot

2. Show lesson plan

3. Ask for examples on what classroom management tools that students learned from

the chapter and write on the board

4. Read objectives and begin powerpoint presentation

5. Slide 3 – Significance of Classroom Management

6. Slide 4 – Kounin

7. Slide 5 – Contemporary Studies

9. Slide 7 – Fundamentals

10. Show websites: elementary and high school

11. Watch video from 2:00 – 7:23 and have them write the tips, pausing when they

appear

12. Tell them that the tips are for them and these websites are on the back of the page

a. No modifications. Any behavior challenges will be met directly and continuing

disrespect will result in student being asked to leave.

a. Assessment consists of kahoot quiz at the end of the presentation
