1. Fuel control switch instead of start lever

2. The engine fuel feed system has these components:
- Center tank boost pump (2)
- Forward and aft boost pump (4)
- Crossfeed valve
- Engine fuel spar valve (2)
- Bypass valve (2)
- Water scavenge ejector pump (4).

3. Each main tank has a forward and aft boost pump. The forward and aft boost pumps are on the
rear spar. Access to the aft boost pumps is through the wheel wells.
4. Bypass Valves: There is one bypass valve in main tank 1 and main tank 2. The bypassvalve
connects to the fuel feed manifold. The bypass valves are inside the main fuel tanks. Access is
through fuel tank access panels under each wing.
5. Water Scavenge Ejector Pumps. Each main tank has a water scavenge ejector. There are two
water scavenge ejector pumps in the center tank. All of the water scavenge ejector pumps are on
the rear spar.
6. Emergency Fuel Shutoff Battery The emergency fuel shutoff battery is in the P6 panel.

7.
8. The fuel quantity indicating system (FQIS) has these components:
- Fuel quantity processor unit (FQPU)
- Tank units
- Compensators
- Wiring and Bussing plugs.
Fuel quantity shows on the MAX display system (MDS) primary engine display and the refuel panel. Fuel
quantity also goes to the flight management computing system (FMCS).

9. Each refueling indicator has an overfill indication. The fuel quantity indication flashes at a 1-
second rate when the fuel in the tank is at more than the maximum capacity rating.
10. The fuel quantity display shows full time in the bottom right side of the primary engine display.

11.

12. LOW : MAIN TANK 1 OR MAIN TANK 2 HAS LESS THAN 2000 LB (907 KG) OF FUEL.

13. IMBAL : DIFFERENCE OF 1000 LB (453 KG) BETWEEN MAIN TANK 1 AND MAIN TANK

14. CONFIG :
- 1600 LB (725 KG) OR MORE OF FUEL IN THE CENTER TANK
- 2 CENTER TANK BOOST PUMPS ARE OFF
- AN ENGINE IS IN OPERATION.

15. FUEL DISAGREE : IN THE FUEL DISPLAY FIELD ADJACENT TO THE TOTAL FUEL LOAD. IT
SHOWS WHEN THE FLIGHT MANAGEMENT COMPUTER (FMC) AND THE FUEL QUANTITY
PROCESSOR UNIT (FQPU) DO NOT AGREE.

16. USING RSV FUEL : IT SHOWS WHEN PREDICTED FUEL AT THE DESTINATION IS LESS
THAN THE FMC CALCULATES FOR RESERVE FUEL. THE WHITE CONTROL DISPLAY UNIT
(CDU) MESSAGE (MSG) LIGHT ALSO COMES ON.

17. INSUFFICIENT FUEL : IT SHOWS WHEN PREDICTED FUEL SHOWS LESS THAN 2000 LBS
AT THE DESTINATION.
