CALL FOR APPLICATION FOR

HEIRIT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and
Development (PCIEERD) is announcing its new program Higher Educational Institution Readiness
for Innovation and Technopreneurship (HEIRIT) Development Program. The development
program will be a preparatory program for HEIs to implement, build and run a technology business
incubator.

Twenty (20) universities will be qualified and trained for hosting DOST Technology Business
Incubators (TBI) all over the country using the validated training modules of the World Bank solely
offered and distributed in the Asia and the Pacific by their subsidiary, InfoDev of Singapore and
intensive training from the DOST-UP Enterprise, Center for Technopreneurship.

The following are the requirements for the selection of Universities for inclusion in the HEIRIT
Program:

1. Active Research & Development


2. Existing business program/school
3. Plans to institutionalize a Technopreneurship Program
4. Partnership with active industry association
5. Support from school administration
6. Existing R&D Centers or Laboratories
7. University counterpart funding for regional build up activities

The Higher Educational Institution Readiness for Innovation and Technopreneurship Development
Program for Starting TBIs (HEIRIT) is open to qualified universities. All interested universities may
submit their Letter of Intent to participate with supporting documents to the Philippine Council for
Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD) thru the
Research Information and Technology Transfer Division (RITTD). For more information, you may
