Review of your Novel

Outline of Assignment:
1. Will this be a favourable or unfavourable review?
2. Choose three components that you will address in your review, (eg. characters, setting,
writing style, plot line, author’s word choice, etc.)
3. Write an introductory paragraph that will include information about your book and the
information in step 1 and 2.
4. Write a paragraph for each component in #2. These should explain the component and
give at least 3 pieces of direct evidence from the book (either by direct quote with an
explanation (at least one) or a detailed description.) Each paragraph needs an introductory
sentence and a concluding sentence.
5. Write a concluding paragraph, which sums up #1,2 again plus a recommendation to read it
or not.
