A Day in the Life of a BA
The life of a Business Analyst is diverse and dynamic depending
on you and your skill set, and the work you are hired to do.
Your day may involve:

A BA is a strong communicator who determines the needs of
stakeholders and works collaboratively to align those needs with
that of the designed solution and the organization.
Analysis of workflow process, artifacts, data and outcomes to
document current state.
Analysis of an organization from a business architecture
perspective to help understand enterprise problems and goals.

Measurement and evaluation of solutions for current business

value and future opportunities.

Communication and collaboration with project stakeholders,

from Executive sponsors to end-users, to frame the future vision
and document future state requirements.

Disciplined problem solving that requires objective assessment

and the ability to negotiate between stakeholders to achieve
consensus.

Identification and communication of risks and issues that may

require changes to project plans or scope.

Detailed planning and documentation of work process and data

flows, using tools like Use Case Diagrams, to specify, visualize,
modify, construct and document the work required to get from
