Learning Greek to lessen a language barrier
Language barriers may be tough but if you try you can overcome
that and make a real connection with you family and your culture.
I will document my attempt at
learning basic Greek through

I will be using an app, Duolingo, and my mother and aunt to learn
enough Greek to hold a conversation. I will work on the app every
other day for about 30 minutes or until I complete one lesson. On
the days when I am working with my mom or my aunt I will
alternate learning to speak, read and write. The lessons will be an
hour to an hour and a half. I will also have a book to help me learn
the alphabet and writing simple phrases. I will post 3 times a week
on Instagram with a minimum of 15 likes and 10 comments. At the
end of my project I will take a video of myself speaking with my
mom and aunt, reading out loud from a book and writing a small
paragraph.
I will take the photos from my social media posts and put them on
the website I made every time I post on social media as a way to
keep my progress documented.
I will spend around an hour a day, so 1 hour a day over a period of
5 weeks will equal around 30 hours but it will probably be more
because the hour is my minimum.
