OUTREACH PROGRAMME REPORT

The trainee teachers of G3.10 took part in an outreach programme on 16th of August
2017. The the programme was conducted in SK Bestari Jaya. The trainee teachers were
accompanied by 2 lecturers, Madam Noreha Jamaluddin and Madam Ros Amisha. 50
LINUS pupils were involved in this programme. The trainee teachers conducted a total of 5
sessions with the pupils. The table shows the summary of the 5 sessions conducted.

SESSIONS ACTIVITIES
1. Ice-Breaking Session  3 action songs were sung
 FACILITATORS:  The songs are Baby Shark, if you’re
 Nur Najwa happy and you know it and One
 Tiong Li Ing Hiponia Little Finger
 Trainee teachers modelled the
actions while the pupils followed.
 Pupils enjoyed the session because
it was something new for them
 The lyrics and actions were easy to
follow.
2. Whisper game session  Pupils pass on a sound whispered
 FACILITATORS: by the facilitators to their friends.
 Ainur Ruzainah  Pupils sing nursery rhymes together
 NurShahriahni with the facilitators.
 enables the pupils to improve their
ability to distinguish the sound
3. The Big Turnip  Pupils are introduced 5 different
 FACILITATORS: techniques to colour a turnip
 Nor Husnina  Pupils colour them using any
 Chuah Hooi Leng technique of their choice.

4. Reading-Writing session  Pupils read along to the story “The


 FACILITATORS: Crow” with the facilitators.

 Pupils choose the right word to be
pasted on the blanks of the story on
the board.
 Pupils play a board game where
they have to answer questions
regarding the story.
5. D-I-Y session  Pupils made musical instruments
 FACILITATORS: with the help of the facilitators.

- Maracas
- Castanets
- Tambourine
 Pupils sang a nursery rhyme while
using the musical instrument that
they have made.

Throughout the programme, we randomly interviewed a few pupils to receive feedback on


the sessions conducted. Generally pupils were feeling happy big difficulties in completing
and excited because the activities are new and interesting. Pupils enjoyed themselves and
participated actively in all sessions.
